Before you start this type of diet, do some research.

I find it very telling that Dr. Robert Atkins, who invented the low carb diet, died in his 50s from heart disease.

Carbs are not the problem, fat is the problem. If you want to eat a healthy diet, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, some meat, and a good amount of pasta, rice, and bread.

LOW carb diets are healthy and effective. Not even Dr Atkins advised a NO carb diet...it is dangerous. A low carb diet is strict in the beginning (20 or less carbs a day) but then gradually adds in GOOD carbs. I've been low carbing for about 1.5 years and it's taken me this long, through repetitiveness, discipline, falling of the wagon, getting back up again, lots of reading, and finally "getting it" to get to the point I'm at today. I stick to a low carb, only good carbs way of eating and I have been successfully maintaining my weight at 120. At last I feel freedom from "dieting". I enjoy myself because I eat what I want. I have long since "wanted" anything sugary, bread or pasta. Low carbing has helped me to get to this point and it didn't happen overnight.

Don't be crazy. Your body needs carbs to supply you with energy. If you cut them out completely you will go into a state called ketosis where your body breaks down protein (ie muscle) in order to supply your energy needs. This is a very unhealthy state and can cause serious damage to your kidneys as they try to deal with all the toxins produced and released.

Follow a low-carb diet if you must, but carbs are an essential nutrient.

no carb diets have been shown not to work. you get an effect for like a month, then you start putting on weight. oh yeah, and not eating carbs makes your breath stink. plus they reckon it puts too much strain on your liver.

anyway, carbs are pasta, bread, rice, potatos, stuff like that. our bodies like these foods. it's natural to eat them, and you should eat them.
it's also sugary stuff, so fruit, candy, soda, veggies like beetroot. so you can't eat fruit. where are you going to get your vitamin c from?

you have to eat butter, steak, bacon, cheese, stuff like that.

Or you could just eat a normal diet and do a bit more exercise.

You should not avoid carbs totally or you will wind up with very bad breath.

Keep carbs to a minimum and have them as early in the day as possible.

Unless you are doing that for medical reasons, it's dumb idea. First, they don't work in the longrun. Second, no carb diets can be a shock to your system and can negatively affect your kidneys & liver. Diets do not work. Just eat healthier meals and get daily exercise.

a NO carb diet is mainly meats and cheeses. That would be entirely boring!

Have a green leafy salad with tomatos along with your broiled or grilled piece of meat and a little cheese too!

Don't do it! It is not healthy and it makes you really tired. Carbs give you all the energy you need for the day. Just cut back on your portions but do not cut out carbs, you will not lose weight and you will be REALLY tired!
