I don't want you to talk me out of it, or tell me I'm stupid, or that I'll regret it. You're not my mother, and she'll be enough to handle once I tell her. First I need the facts so I can support my argument.
Facts:
I'm 17.
I live in Ohio, Franklin county area.
Parents are married, all that stuff. I don't really know what else you need to know.
I just can't do it anymore. My ADHD is so bad, and I honestly just don't care anymore. I have a good job, and once everything gets settled, I'm picking up another. I know it's not going to be easy. I'm not naive. School just isn't important to me anymore, and it's at the bottom of my priorities.

Then drop out. Just don't show up.
Eventually you'll figure out if it was a mistake or not and if it was then it's not the end of the world, just pick it back up.
You don't have to follow the norm. Do it your way. You can get a GED later on your own time. Get a college degree online.
You don't have to do it like every one else.
Live the way you want to.

Think about it ... You'll regret it later ... No High school diploma ... When you get married and have a child or two ... They will always look up to you and can always argue with you saying ... "You don't have a high school diploma ... why should I get mine ??"
You have a good job now but if what if you want to move up the ladder and be a department manager and you might not be able to do it ... Unless you're very lucky enough to do it ...
Ask your parents about being homeschooled and maybe you can focus better ... Just get high school diploma and be on your way to a career ...
I know a few people that has no high school diploma and they can't even get a good job all becuz they dropped out of school when they had a good paying job and once the manager found out they didnt graduate from high school ... The manager didn't let them move up to be a manager or something else ... They had to quit to look for another job and yet they can't make ends meet ...
Im NOT saying you're stupid ... Im just hoping you would change your mind and find another way to graduate from High School ...

Your 17! You don't have that much longer to go. My husband dropped out of high school and got his GED and so did several of my friends. They all say they made a big mistake and regret it. You have to at least get your GED and you have to study for that too. Simply put it, tough it out. School is not as hard as life without a diploma. Prices of things are going up and up and more and more jobs are even requiring college degrees now-a-days. life is hard without money, so get your education. Again life is hard, don't you want the pride in the accoplishment of completing school. Something you have spent your whole life doing. Just finish and get it over with! Don't be dumb! If you don't want this kind of responce then don't ask the question!

Because your only 17 you wont be able to alone. you have have to get your parents to sign and consent form.
the school will require this to legally get you out.
if your parents Wont then you just stop going.
and if you turn 18 during the school year then you can legally do it.
but be prepared cuz if your parents are anything like my friends you will be looking for a place to sleep after you tell them.
and trust me i know exactly how you feel. i diddnt drop out but i was VERY close. im glad i diddnt. but high school sucks.
also remeber that w/e desision you make your going to hav to live with forever DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!
Good luck

If you are 17, you probably have less than 2 years of schooling left. And, most good jobs require a high school diploma minimum. I have had some friends that have had to go back and get GED, and they say it is hard and time consuming. Will you make enough money to support yourself? My parents would never let us quit school and continue to live at home. Please think twice.Aren't you taking medication for your ADHD? Maybe it needs adjusted. Take care.

Im not going to tell you that you will regret it or anythign else, because you obviously know what most people are going to say to you. But before you drop out of school, think about some things first. Now you say you cant take it because of your ADHD, is there extra help you can get at your school to help you through it? Since your 17, you cant have alot of time to go in school. Before you just drop out of school, talk to a school counselor or your doctor to see if there is something you can do to get through your last year or two of school.
Please, just think about it before you do it. Talk to your parents, a doctor, or someone at your school who you can trust and can talk to, before you drop out. At one of the schools around here, they have a night school for potential drop outs where they only go for a few hours a night instead of during the day and i think they get done sooner. Does your school have anything like that? Don;t do something you will regret later in life.
If you really want to srop out, I imagine you just stop going.
Good luck! Please think it through before you do this.

First of all what's the age you can legally drop out of school? So if it''s legal then just do it, go to your principle tell him what you want to do,and what you need to do. I think it is only fair that you tell your parents first.

You technically have to be 18, unless you have your parents consent. But you can always just stop going but I think you'll still be enrolled.
