Because we now know that Bush manufactored the intelligence by which he justified the war. There weren't any WMDs in Iraq, or any connections between Iraq and Al Qieda, or Iraq and 9/11. Bush has used the war as a method for driving up oil prices and for syphoning off tax revenue to political connected war profiteers such as Haliburton. Close to 4000 soldiers have died and hundreds of billions of dollars spent so that Bush can boast about being "a war president".
And what have we accomplished. Bush has created more terrorism, more recruits for Al Qieda, created training grounds for Al Qieda, driven up the price of oil, bankrupted the country, demoralized the troops, and prevented the National Guard from defending the homeland from natural disasters such as fires and floods.
Isn't that enough reason?
"Since when does the dictionary define the word "most" as:
Erudite and his small circle of like minded trolls???"
I think that the 80+ percent of Americans that the current polls show are against the war easily qualifies as "most" even among the vanishing small minority that still support the Republican party.

I just don't understand how we could fight a war with no plan. When are we going to leave? No one knows. How many people are we willing to give up? Don't know. What if another country decides to attack us while we are weak when all our troops are in Iraq? Don't know, guess it would just be hell? What if we don't succeed in the war? Will that be the down fall to the U.S. What are we actually fighting? You can not fight an ideology. That would be like fighting Jews/Christians. Last who are you to justify what is wrong or right? Why is it that its ok for us to go kill thousands but not them. Just because someone punches you, are you going to punch back? Many people felt for Americans that day, more at the time then they do now. Now we are just as evil as any terrorist group. To them we our terrorist.
Do you feel safer today than you did before 9/11?

Americans have got it soft in that they want instant results or else it goes into the garbage. It doesn't help that the party in power, the Democrats, are doing everything they can to sabotage the war effort if only to make Bush look bad. Then there is the left wing media that reports only the bad things happening in Iraq like a daily body count. Unfortunately there are many Americans who believe everything they read in the newspaper and television. "If it's in the news it must be correct." Right?

Americans have long had an isolationist streak, and have never aproved of protracted foreign wars. Though, it's only in living memory that such disaproval has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Because the main stream press is against the war. It only takes so many times of reading negative headlines to start believing them. It is unfortunate that so many people are either ignorant or cowardice enough to turn against their military while we are at war.

Because they're left-winged liberals with their heads where the sun don't shine.
They think that if we don't have war, we'll get farther.
It won't work that way, since the terrorists are muslims and their koran or whatever tells them that if they kill people like us, and they die, they'll go to Heaven.
So.
If they kill us, and we don't kill them back, they'll keep killing us.
We need war to show the terrorists that you just don't mess with us.
It shows them that if you kill some Americans, we'll overthrow your government, hunt you down, kill you and all your buddies, and then rebuild the country from the ground up, including helping them create a democracy.
And contrary to popular belief, the Iraqis do actually like us.
