If so what gender is better male or female?

It TOTALLY depends on the individual temperment of the dog. For the most part, I would say that Chi's are great pets. My neighbor has one and he is the sweetest dog....

Another neighbor has one and he is a nightmare. He barks all the time and is very very nasty to other people and other dogs.

You should interact with the dog as much as possible to see if it is right for you

Good luck!

I have had them for over 10 years and this is the only breed for me but it all depends on you and your family chihuahuas are the smallest breed of dog so they do need more care than some of the bigger breeds at 8 weeks a chihuahua pups only weighs about a pound so you will need to be very careful not to let them get hurt you don't need to ever play rough with them they are more the kind of breed to be made babies out of Chihuahuas are very loving and love to be held some do tend to take up with one person more but will still love the rest of the family they are very protective of their family and will try to protect you from others this is where the barking comes in if you have small children you will need to teach them to be gentle with the dog if they are the child will have a friend for life A chihuahua as a adult will be under 6 lbs they are good for apartments they don't need much space if they are like mine just my bed is enough space I love this breed and think they are the greatest but go to msn search and put in chihuahua they are some great websites that will tell you everything about the chihuahua

A lot depends on the breeder. If it was raised in a kennel, it will take time to get used to people. Chihuahua pups should always be home raised. I have owned chihuahuas over 30 yr and I have never owned a mean one. I have been raising them for over yr and the people who buy my pups say you can't beat the temperament. That is why most puppy nuyers come back for another pup, or more than one more. They are loving, loyal, smart, sweet, cuddly. The ultimate lap dog. Good luck finding a chi to love! Either sex can be wonderful pets! Depends on what you prefer. One thing you must do is to socialize them with lots of people, even kids, and with other dogs, large and small/.

Im of route no longer attempting to act like a determine yet they are large responsibilites.even notwithstanding they are small doesnt propose something. My friends are relaxing, amazing, amazing, and punctiliously non vicious. yet you should ask someone you recognize. in case you recognize someone who has one if u ought to eitherr tae care of itfor that week or perhaps basically to play with it so oftentimes. properly i wish i helped!

Well... I have a chiuaua mixed with a long haired danshund and she's mostly like a chiuaua and she's very hyper! But otherwise, she's a very good puppy. Most puppies are hyper though, no matter what kind of breed they are. My other dog (who's a beagle) was the same way when she was little. Chiuauas are good dogs if you're into little dogs that is.

Me-ow your puppies are cute!!! I just asked a similar question if you wanna check out the answers I got for it too. It sounds like both males and females have the potential to be sweet but also yappy depending on how well bred and socialised they are. Good luck if you decide to get one.

Maybe, you need to pick a dog that will fit your lifestyle. Chihuahuas are fairly intelligent dogs and need a lot of attention. They are also prone to jealousy issues. Check out the website below and click "My best dog" on the left.

I drive an over-the-road truck. I've never owned a "Chi" personally, but I talk to other drivers daily. Many travel with a "Chi" or two in the truck. All enjoy them.

I love my Chi., but she's a handful... She's been socialized her whole life, but still to this day she hates men, and if anyone is out walking by our house, she runs and acts like she's going to attack them. It took us 6months to housebreak her, also she doesn't let anyone doing anything for her except for me. She's attached to me 24/7, and if I leave she whines until I get home. I don't think most Chi's are like her, but still don't get one if you don't have the time to take care of one. Mine is spoiled rotten by me, and it shows lol.
