I heard that lamb is considered white meat, is that true? What is the difference between lamb and beef anyway? Is it healthier than beef? is it AS healthy as chicken? I am introducing it to my family and I want to know how lamb is health wise.

ok then, so is there anything good about lamb? if it is only as good (or as bad) as beef, why bother then right?

Lamb typically is higher in fat versus beef, but wait a minute; that depends on the cut of beef. I tenderloin of beef will have less fat than the ribeye cut. A chuck cut will have more fat than a sirloin. A lamb chop will have less fat than a beef ribeye. So it really isn't apples-to-apples in a beef-lamb comparison.
Lamb is a really tasty meat though. I make a seven hour leg of lamb with a mint, rosemary, mustard rub. It just cooks all day filling the house with the best aroma.
Nutritionally, lamb is a good source of, vitamin B12, protein (naturally), zinc, niacin, and phosphorouand. It may be effective in the prevention of Alzheimers disease.

No...lamb has never been white meat.
Maybe you are thinking of VEAL. It is baby cow, and is very light.
Lamb is definitely red. It just has a very different taste. You also want to steer really clear of lamb with FAT on it...the fat gives the meat a terrible gamey flavor.
I really like lamb. I can't describe the taste. It is like the texture of beef, but with a "tangy" flavor.
Lamb is as healthy as beef.

Lamb is definitely not white meat. A lamb chop looks pretty much like a small steak when served.
The links below will allow you to compare a lamb chop to a filet mignon to a chicken breast...hope this helps.

Lamb is great, cooked in a slow cooker, and then served with potatoes cooked with it for the last hour. My family likes to get mint jelly and spear a piece of lamb and dip the edge of it in a little blob of the mint jelly they have on their plate. It is eaten like turkey dipped in cranberry sauce. Enjoy
Nice thing, introducing new things to your family, they grow up eating just about everything.

Lamb is baby sheep...beef is cow...
I don't think it is considered white meat...looks pretty red to me
You might be thinking of pork..."the other white meat"
I don't know if its healthier than beef, but it is not healthier than chicken...
Personally I love lamb..it is very tasty
