Just wondering. Is it the other persons business if you don't have anything to affect the relationship now, such as, STD's, is it your partners RIGHT to know how many people you have slept with or is it the past. P.S. I'm not having this problem in my life, just curious!

In the ideal world, people would meet, have a frank discussion about their sexual past with no lies of omission and full disclosure. Then the happy couple would trot merrily down the road the the doctor's office for a full sexual examination and tests for all the major STDs.

They would then pick up the most appropriate forms of birth control and begin their sexual relationship.

But the reality is that is not the way things work out. Most girls will under play how many people they have slept with, because of the social taboo associated with having too much sex as a woman. Most men will underplay the number so that they do not appear like 'players' to the girl the are currently trying to sleep with.

No, you don't need to reveal the number of sexual partners you had in your lifetime. It is YOUR business. However, if you do have STD, your partner has the right to know about that.

It only takes 1 'wrong' person to get a STD, the number is irrelevant. Before atarting a serious relationship I recommend getting tested.

It shouldn't be relevant.. Wanting to know if you have an STD is COMPLETELY relevant.. You could have slept with 100 guys and gotten none, or you could have slept with 1 and gotten one.. The past shouldn't matter..

It is not necessary to do so. It is the past, and we all have one. However, if you have STDs, you must reveal that your partner prior to any physical contact.
