Churches don't pay any taxes, they take in billions of dollars. Why do they always need a little more?

No honey, I've already "figured it out".
You obviously haven't figured out that God and the churches are one and the same. They cannot survive without each other.
What the churches tell you they do with the money is obviously different from what they are actually doing with it.
Your quick to swallow what they tell you though. If they were actually utilizing that money for some of the things you said, helping the homeless, the hungry, the unemployed, don't you think you would see some changes here?
Your delusional.

"Money bars, casinos, lotteries, and hookers" don't make billions of dollars based on bringing out people's fears of heaven and hell.
If we left it up to you dangerous Christians, we would be living a hell on earth by now. There would be no science, no free or logical thought.
Instead we would cling to a book that has no credibility.

"Money is evil and not controlled by God." Then what does all-powerful mean? Read revelation, Satan is doing God's work for Him throughout that book. That's interesting theology. Every answer that puts the ultimate blame on something other than God's almighty and just plan is not consistent with Christian theology. Is God a leaf to be blown in the wind. The question has merit because it reveals the the contradiction that is the "problem of evil." This question gets so many answers and my little question of whether your idea of God changes got three. Why?

The church is not God, the people are the church. God can handle anything a human being thinks to dish out. But in all seriousness, churches need more money for the same reasons any institutions need it... they have to buy and pay for things too, charities are not for profit because this keeps them honest, therefore they are exempt from taxes. there are actual reasons why churches don't have to pay taxes - and it is all connected to the ideals of charity.

It's not that "God can't handle money"... anyway, it's people that created money, use money and who agree to base societal needs upon money, not God.

Even Jesus insisted that as long as men required money for certain things in society then that's the way it would be: "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's".

Churches that are taking in billions of dollars and not using the money for the betterment of mankind by helping the poor and other charities of that nature, then they are really straying...such as some of the mega churches do with their extravagances.

Well these are the bases that Christianity was created. Finacially, religion is big busniss. Why do you think King James revised the bible when he had it translated into english. He wanted something that was going to be marketable.

Starting a church in America is easy as 1-2-3. Once you created your church just make sure you include a: Pastor Offering, Church Offering, Care Offering, Pastor Anniversary Offering, Wish offering, and the list keeps going. LOL

If we left things up to true Christians intent on glorifying God, then things really wouldnt be that bad...
Since that, in essence, is what God made us to do, we would be blessed and in return, the world would reap the blessings.
The church often, does take money for their own pleasure, but that is because man is sinful: we are all prone to do stupid and selfish things.
God can totally survive without the church; the church however cannot survive without God, which is why we see so many of them being greedy and giving him a bad rep.
God is all powerful, all knowing and all wise and he can handle money... its us who cant!

God does not handle money, that's the leaders of churches responsibility. There a lot of companies that are in the tax exempt status. If churches use the Lord's money as they should there is always a need for more. Get invested in a church and see where all of the monies are allocated.

My understanding of theology is that God does not need any money. To your point, if he is omnipotent he could do anything he wants. Part of religion (not spirituality) is giving to whatever (club) church you belong to and that organization has goals it wants to accomplish. If you do not believe in those goals I would join another church. Personally, I would much rather put $10 in the hands of a homeless person than give to a church where millions of dollars are being paid to settle lawsuits against child abuse.

Why does it grieve you people so much what Christians do with their money. You say don't pay taxes, are you aware that before any money makes it to the church, it has been taxed in my case 25 % fed, 12 % state? that comes to 37% out of my check before I get a dime. What I chose to do with the remaining 63% should be up to me. I have yet seen a Chrsitan complain about all the money bars, casinos, lotteries, and hookers make.

I would say then, that in your question you just proved God or His disciples to be more exact, to be excellent with mioney. Do you know the richest and largest land owner in the world is the Catholic Church? Come on, somebody is good with money out there.....

Good question. The problem is, it is the flawed people handling the money, not God Himself.
That leaves room for corruption and mistakes.
*Edit* Gosh, I'm sorry. I answered because I thought you had a legitimate question. I wouldn't have bothered you with my dangerous, religious nonsense had I realized you were just looking for an oppurtunity to bash Christians :)
