Hi, can someone help me re-enabling my 98 nissan altima's power lock?
I was fooling around and with the alarm on I opened the drivers door with the key. This (apparently) disabled the power lock. After this when I activate the alarm (via remote or key fob) the doors don't lock, I have to lock them with the key!!! :(
Another thing that I noticed is that when I turn the engine on the doors don't lock, which happened before I disabled the power locks...
Hope this rings some bells and someone can give me an advice.
Thx in advance,
JarZe

Auto door lock (when you turn the engine on) is not an original Nissan feature??? I absolutely didn't know that. But, when the alarm activates (fires) the horn sounds... Isn't this supposed to happen only on OEM alarms?
Can you please explain how to arm/disarm the alarm, I've tried the "hold the key for one or two seconds in the lock position" but that doesn't do anything!!! I feel like sh*** because I ruined my car's alarm just by fooling around. I'd really appreciate if you could help me.
Thx,
JarZe

Auto door lock on start up is not a feature of stock Nissan Lock systems. Try unlocking all the doors and relocking with the keyless fob. If that does not work? Is there an auto door lock button on the power window switch? Try unlocking and relocking there. After market power door lock actulator in the drivers door sends a signal to the others to lock and unlock. Moving the lock on the inside door handle locks the other doors? How about arming and dis arming at the trunk key cyl? remember you have to turn and hold a second to arm with a key. When messing with power locks always roll down a window
