Mine usually follow me when they want something. The "something" is usually food, affection or both. My guess is that your kitty just loves you, loves being with you and so she goes where you go. (Some are less clingy by the way.)

Not all kitties do this. A friend of mine has two cats that are unbelievably independent. All they do is eat, chase each other a bit, and sleep. They don't ever ask for any attention....and they're indoor cats!
It's just a personality thing. Some kitties are quite needy. My cat never leaves me alone when I'm home, which doesn't bother me one bit. She doesn't demand constant attention, but she HAS to be in the same room as me. If I go into a room and shut the door, she'll sit outside the door and cry until I let her in. I guess she just doesn't like to be alone.

My cat is the stalker type. And she doesnt have to be hungry. If i'm in the computer room, she's somewhere nearby. IF i get up and go in another room, she will follow. She's not necessarily a lapcat, but sometimes she has to be in the vicinity. I hate when I wake up in the middle of the night and she's asleep on top of the covers at my feet. I feel trapped! Sometimes i'll open my eyes to two big eyes and a nose. She used to follow me in the bathroom but I had to put a stop to that immediately!

They love you! My 2 cats do the same thing. One of them is worse than the other. He follows me ABSOLUTELY everywhere. I call him " My shadow ". I think its great and it makes you feel good. They trust you, and they really love you and just want to know what you are doing. Cats are very curious animals! Your the one that feeds them, your the one that plays with them and gives them affection, and they know that your the one that loves them. So they return the favor by always wanting to be around you =) thats them showing affection i think! good luck with your kitty!

My ASH tabby is very needy. She's happiest when mom is home, judging by the way she hollers when she hears my key in the lock and sees me coming in. She's also given me sad looks when I have to leave. And she's especially fond of my boyfriend, curling up in his lap when he's visiting. Some domesticated housecats need human attention more than others. I have heard that Oriental breeds are especially needy (and chatty), which has me thinking my cat has a bit of Oriental Short Hair in her, although she's not that skinny.

Some breeds are just very closely bonded with their people and feel that they want to be around you all the time, "helping" you put away the dishes, read the newspaper, fold the clean laundry... Manx can be like that.
