why did god not create humans whith the capability of photosynthesis? We could just sit in the garden, enjoy the sun and not worry where the next meal is coming from. Wouldn't that have eliminated many wars in our history? Wouldn't green humans have been a more intelligent design than the present version?

The short answer is: then we'd have to sit around all day, just basking in the sun.

Letting other creatures gather up that energy, and then eating THEM, is much more efficient.

Because evolution is what created us. And besides, only plants have photosynthesis. It's been billions of years since plant and animals have split off of the evolutionary tree. Even if humans had photosynthesis, it wouldn't give us the energy needed to move around much. In fact, we would pretty much have to sit still all of the time so that we wouldn't use up our energy. Also, we would be breathing in carbon dioxide and breathing out oxygen through the process of photosynthesis, instead of breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide which is what animals do. In other words, we would have to be a plant to do what you are saying.

I have olive skin. So when I don't have a tan ( which is almost never) I look kind of green. I am also pretty familiar with plants. With photosynthesis comes the frailties of photosynthesis. It's good for plants exposed to light, but those plants which require photosynthesis, they don't do too well in dark places without light.

I have thought about this too. If we were green like plants and trees able to gather energy through photosynthesis and eliminate our wastes as vapor or carbon dioxide, wouldn't that be great? no more grocery grocery shopping, menu planning, cooking, no more dumping sewage in the oceans, this planet would be a totally different world.

haha i think u were being serious but the idea of this entertained me. What a brilliant question. Im not overly religious or anything but from what i can remember being told "god made us in his form" so maybe because god cant produce his own nutriants from photosynthesis he decided not to make it any easier on the rest of us.

I shall now, stop worshipping the god of heaven and start worshipping the god Tigris.
You are obviously so far superior in knowledge.
Silly me for having spent so many years worshipping that other god.
