Only in places where I can watch it. There are times when we've stopped during a long ride at a sandwich shop. We parked the bikes outside but made sure we got the table where we could see them through the window.

Mine is in the garage when not riding during season. They come in the house off season and one of them is parked on the trainer in the den so I can ride and watch TV.

Indoors at home, indoors at work if allowed. Otherwise, securely locked to a pole/sign/bike rack.

Away from home. I make sure it is chained up and out of the way where people flowing so some one don't mess with it.
