I shall be contacting YA to find out why. The question was and i think it was a legitimate question, with no insult intended -
To Muslims - And please no nasty answers - What is your opinion of Mohammed being married to Ayesha?

I have emailed YA asking why this question was removed

Sansfear - Good point - There is no malice intended here please believe that. My question is looking for an opinion. i.e if this law is not compatible in this day and age, then surely there are a lot of things that should be changed in ALL religions as most of the laws are archaic and do not stand to reason today

Hello,

What is more frustrating than having a crybaby or snitch get your question removed is that Yahoo never gets back to you when you appeal the deletion. Whoever does the deletion either doesn't bother studying the question and answers at times or lacks any knowledge of advanced English skills by failing to understand simile, metaphor, witticisms, satire etc.
I have run into this a few times.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

Listen, I have no clue why your question was deleted. But let me tell you that this one (along with others) have been answered thousands, if not millions of times (online and offline). I think it's high time people left the crust and went for the "core". Why can't questions about Islam get a little creative? :S

As for my opinion, I see nothing wrong with Prophet Mohamed getting married to Ayesha. You just can't take that marriage out of its historical and most importantly "cultural" background and say "Mohamed was this and that because he married a child." Back then in Arabia, women got married young, it was totally normal and acceptable. Also, Ayesha was a fully grown woman when Mohamed PBUH married her. Why do I, as a Muslim, care then? Why not let go of superficiality and trivial questions about the Prophet PBUH and philosophize about the oneness of God for example? How long would it take people to leave the crust and go for the core! I don't know!

Sometimes questions hit a little to close to home and touch open wounds.

I wonder if you asked why Joseph slept with an underaged Mary whether that would be removed as well?

People love to point fingers at Muhammed marrying young girls, but forget the Joseph married Mary when she was likely in her early teens.

Sounds like a reasonable question to me.

Your question wouldn't have been removed simply because someone flagged it. It was removed because someone at Yahoo thought it should be.

They get defenisve and would rather cover up history than answer the question.
