A notable prophet and leader who lived about 2000 B.C. He is called the king of Salem (Jerusalem), king of peace, and “priest of the most High God.” Unfortunately, information concerning him in the Bible is relatively scarce, being limited to Gen. 14: 18-20; Heb. 4: 6; Heb. 7: 1-3. Mention of the priesthood of Melchizedek is given in several other instances, primarily in Psalms and in Hebrews.
Melchizedek was the High Priest to whom Abraham brought his tithes. He received the priesthood from him. When the children of Israel failed to live up to the privileges and covenants of the Melchizedek Priesthood, the Lord took away the higher law and gave them a lesser priesthood and a lesser law. These were called the Aaronic Priesthood and the law of Moses. The Aaronic Priesthood is not a different priesthood; rather, it is the lesser portion of the priesthood, dealing with the introductory ordinances and the preparatory commandments. When Jesus came, he restored the Melchizedek Priesthood to the Jews and began to build up the Church among them. However, it was lost again by apostasy, and was taken from the earth until the Restoration.

He was a priest appointed by God. If you look it up in Hebrews, Jesus is said to be a priest forever in the royal priesthood of Melchizedek. That also means there is no need for any priests after Jesus, because in those times a new priest was not appointed until the old one passed, which we all know didn't happen with Jesus, He reigns forever.

The Melech (King), Zedek (Righteous), of Salem (Shalom-Peace). He was the righteous king who ruled Salem (Jerusalem). Some say he was Shem, Noah son, and others say he was the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). Personally, I believe he was a man who represented the future king and priest of Jerusalem. Yeshua.
Shalom.

That is subject to much debate.
Some say just a physical priest who recieved tithes and offerings, while others say it was a manifestation of God. A type of pre-Christ, who as scripture clearly declare is a "high priest forever after the order of Melchisedech"

Its said that he is more unique than Jesus or Adam. Why then is he not preferred to be this Godman or son of God then Astugfarallah Azeem?
Christians say no one can deny this.
"Jesus called himself Son of man and refused to be called Son of God read Luke 4:41 and here is more that follows on that dialog if they care for us to continue inshAllah very nice topic and proof of Jesus being a man again.

Melchizadek (also called Zadek) was a Canaanite deity.
The Bible story (which, here, includes a god other than Yahweh) simply follows the local tradition of claiming that the author's favorite god is cooler than some distant people's favorite god, in this case by having the other god pay tribute.
