We are self employed. We pay in the sales tax on our labor and product sold. Why do we pay on our labor wage. We pay Income tax on it. Seems like double taxing.

Is this a sales tax question or a income tax question?

1) Sales tax rules vary by state. Some states tax installation and/or repair labor and some do.

2) As for income tax. We don't pay income tax on our labor. We pay it on our wages, salaries and other income.
