For everyone ragging on people who ride their bicycle go suck on your tail pipe of your car some more you lazy fat A.S.S.E.S. True that the only way to get your garbage picked up is to put it NEAR the street, not in the street. The garbage trucks have this nifty hydraulic arm that moves away from the truck so you don't have to put your garbage in the street. It would just be common courtesy for ignorant people who sit around on their butts, eat, get fat, and drive their car 1/2 a mile down the street to get a double double super sized big mac whopper with a super biggie sized bucket of soda and don't forget your pale of fries while your out!

Would love to...but only if you do me a favor. I'd really appreciate it if you and your friends would ride two-by-two in a bike lane that only has room for one. Oh, yeah, and while I'm at it, it would be SUPER if you could keep your bike as close to the cars at all times, instead of using the whole bike lane. I personally LOVE trying to get my side mirror as close to your handlebars as possible!
FYI, the city and/or the trash company has specified that the only way to get the trash taken out is to put it on the street side of the curb. It's the only way for the trucks to actually get the trash, so I'm not sure what else you're expecting. Additionally, the post office is pretty clear about where mailboxes are supposed to be placed...maybe you should take up your issues with them, since the homeowners really don't have an option.
Edit:
I don't know about where you live, but where I live, we are REQUIRED to put our garbage cans on the street side of the curb, or else the garbage will not be picked up. It's not a complaint about bicyclists (I am one, btw), it's simply noting what is factual.
Some of y'all need to stop being so defensive. The question was posted in a smart-aleck manner, so I figured the poster was prepared to hear a smart-aleck answer.
When I ride my bike, I keep the wheels as close to the curb as possible, so that I am not in the way of the cars.
When I drive my car, I see everyone else doing exactly the opposite. It makes me insane when I have to move my car out of the lane that was designated for me, just because the bicyclist next to me CHOOSES to ride the white line for fun.
I'm trying to share the road, but not getting much cooperation!

This winter I am going to put my bike up for one day. On that one day I am going to drive a bull dozer to work and jack up every car I see.
