I know a man who's son was murdered about 6 years ago. It has been a very very tough 6 years for him! He was cleared as a suspect. But recently he found out that his phone and cell phone are tapped! Why? Why bother this guy if he is no longer a suspect? Why make his life more miserable? To me this shows a lack of respect, a lack of heart, It solves nothing! I man the man is 63 years old! He lost his son! He has no criminal record, and has served his time in the military, and has retired! Can anyone be left alone anymore? I understand there are some law enforcement agencies who do not waste their resorces in this manner. I know there are good cops. But to me this is heartless! I think you leave the guy alone! I think that law enforcement officials who do this kind of thing should face diciplinary action of some type!

No no no!! This guy isn't capable of murder! I work with him! There is not a day that goes by that he does not talk about his son and how he misses him! He is very upset about the ordeal and actually called the local law enforcement agency. Of course they denied everything! lol...

Well, from what I gather he has a best friend who is a retired detective or whatever who told him that his phone was tapped! So, I dunno! Mabe he made up the whole story? I dunno! I would think it would be silly to make it up though!

Wiretaps can not be put on a phone unless their is some evidence and a judge signs the warrant. He may have been cleared so he feels safe but the police seem to be watching him closely because they either suspect him or suspect he knows something. Either way this guy is not in the clear and you might be wise to distance yourself from him.

ADDED: I hate to disagree with you but, given the right set of circumstances, anyone is capable of murder.

How to distance yourself? You should be careful what you say to him. Don't call him on the phone if possible. Don't socialize with him outside of work. In other words, the less your associated with him other than work, the better off you may be if it turns out he is involved in some way.

All Due Respect To The Man In Question. But He Sounds A Little Paranoid, Hes Knows His Phones Are Tapped?? Id Kinda Think The Police Dont Let You Know This In Advance. Id Like To Believe Hes Innocent But Those Trained To Take Care Of That Kinda Stuff Dont Usually Boast About What They've Done. Perhaps His Military Background Is a Lil More Extensive Than Hes Led You To Believe And The Authorities No This.

I would be interested to know how he found out that his phone was being tapped.
As for cellphones, because they are radios, they are subject to monitoring by anyone with the equipment.
While I empathize with this gentleman, a murder is supposed to be investigated until the person responsible is brought to justice. The Detectives are doing their jobs.
Additionally, if he did not kill his son, the police may believe that he is protecting the person or persons who committed the murder.
