Why do parents think they have the right to make you feel small? Why do parents think they know everything? Why do parents think they can answer your phone and put their nose in your business? Why are they so annoying?

Stunt_Gem - That really is just sad ^o) ...Why do you ask your questions? Why doe anyone ask questions on here? Maybe because they want an answer so WTF is your problem!

I take your having a fight with your parents? I guess they're just curious about your life, now that your older they know less about you. You like that, but they have a problem with it. Tell them you need your private world. Someone without a private world isn't really someone at all.

Parents have annoyed kids down through the ages. I was annoyed by my mom growing up to no end. I'm sure I annoy my kids the same way. The reason is simple...kids don't always have enough information to make good choices. For example, a kid might want to spend all their money on the gadget of the day. They can't see the bigger picture that the money would do them much more good being used to pay for college. They just don't have enough experience yet to see it. The same thing is true when it comes to BF/GF situations. You might be 1000% sure that you will be safe with someone when your parents know better.
Yes, it's terribly annoying when parents 'don't get it' but be aware that maybe the situation is really that you are the one not 'getting it'.

Sorry if you feel your parents are trying to "make you feel small"... truth is, no one can MAKE you feel anything which you are not prone to feeling all by yourself.
Parents know a lot more than their kids about life, as a rule.. that does NOT mean we are always right, and it certainly does NOT mean that we can't take the time to listen to our kids' side of the story, etc.
I don't believe it's a parent's place to answer their teens' phone UNLESS they feel the teen is being threatened, harassed or in danger in some way by a person who is calling.
parents are annoying because someone has to do it.

Because they are your parents. They care about you. They worry about you. They want to make sure you are making the right choices and that you are surrounded by good people.
Stop whining. At least you have parents. At least you have people who care enough about you to be nosey and try to get into your business. You have people who love you, they put a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food in your stomach. They aren't screaming at you to get out, they aren't beating you before you go to bed because you are crying that you are hungry. You aren't moving from one homeless shelter to the next. You aren't living out of a car.
Grow up and start appreciating what you have.

Because they made you thats why! Someday you will understand all of this especially when you have your own kids. I know when I was a teenager my parents drove me crazy but now that I have children I know they were protecting me and making sure I was doing right. Now today we are best friends. I call them everyday to see how they are and if I don't call you know they still call to see how I am.

Why ask why? Why are you asking so many questions you don't know the answers to? Is this a manip, OUCH? why are you not 18 years old? why am I answering this? why do guys think there smart? why did I forget to where underwear j/k? why are green beans green, is that why there are called green beans? what is your favorite color? why do people do things on purpose without knowing there doing it on purpose? why do people insult peoples intelligence? why do girls have no respect for themselves? why do people see money as life? why would you ask a question when you already know the answer ?

Your lucky that your parents are showing any interest in your life. Many people have the exact opposite problem.
