Why don't people like red-heads?

I'm curious as to why most people don't like red-heads anymore? I personally love my hair colour, but apprently its a horrible. Is it really such an awful colour?

My hair is quite dark and very red, but people make fun of me because of it?
However loads of people say they love it. I like all red-heads. I think people need to stop judging on appearance.

Oh puh-lease! It's not that they don't like you, it's just that there jealous. Because we are special, there aren't as many now as there was before. And seriously be proud of that hair. I personally have so many people comment on my hair color and then ask if it's natural. I laugh and tell them G.O.D 119 in medium. Some get it, others don't. Flaunt it. Guys love my hair, because there is some odd little rumor that redheads are crazy in bed. Haven't tested that theory out though, lol.

I love red heads as well, though the darker shades of red. ;)

It's an association thing. First of all, real red hair is rare and the masses love the average; if you are very few people, you don't really "belong". Second, red hair (as it is rare and has always been) usually goes with very pale skin, which in medieval times (where people worked outside and were exposed to the sun) represented possible sickness. Third, you'll remember the Inquisition and witch-burning, red hair was generally a sign of being "special" in a way.

Altogether therefore, it's a cultural phenomenon that works rather unconsciously. On the bright side, quite a few British monarchs were gingers, so treat your hair colour as something special in a positive way. Being rare means being precious. ;)

I personally love red heads. Problem is it's hard to find red heads with pretty faces and decent body's. I don't want to be rude most most red heads I've met aren't very attractive. But I wish that weren't the case.

I personally don't mind readheads and one of my best friends is one but I think that dislike of readheads has been passed down through the genereations and people, nowadays probably don't know why they dislike them.

This is and example of some hatred of readheads hundreds of years ago...

No, but I think someone just needs to make the color hot again. Like a celebrity or something. But as long as you're beautiful inside and out then it doesn't matter.

I love red head women. I think red hair is very sexy.
