Suppose there was a family secret and it was that you found out your parents were illegally in the country. You never knew until you became an adult. What would you do? Would you want them to be deported?

No. And I'd be worried about myself too. Was I born here, brought here when I was very young that I couldn't remember?
Am I citizen??? But this is the only country I've ever been, I've lived here all my life, I don't even speak anything other than English, how could I NOT be a citizen?

Oh, So I am, but my older brother is not so I am going to be separated from mom and dad and my older brother!

That is terrible and should not be allowed to happen

That's a pretty bizarre hypothetical, considering how long my family's been in CA.

I'd want them to become legal, of course. And, as an adult, I'd be able to sponsor them. At worst, they might have to visit our relatives in the Old Country for a while.

I hate my parents, I wish they were illegal so I could report them.

You are pitiful, nice cop hat for someone who advocates for criminals so strongly.

Do you know that I actually understand why illegals come here and agree with their reasoning?

They are coming for survival. Through out history poor people have invaded rich neighbors every where in the world. It is survival and it is the way the world works.

Durring these invasions the invaded country has always fought back and all these invasions have led to violence. In some cases the invaders won and in others the defenders won. In the cases where the invaders won, the culture and people have been changed. The prior ruling class, race, or lcitizens have been treated as being less than the new rulers.

Why do you believe that it is OK to give away our country for their childrens future at the expense of our childrens future.

Already Spanish is becoming required in schools, in places they have taken down our flag and raised theirs.

You and all others like you make me sick.

The United States of America is going to be the first country in the world taken over without a shot being fired because of Bleeding-Hearts like you who so not understand the way the world works and haow invasions are conducted.

Ask the indians if they think it affected their children to be required by the European invaders to learn the new language and accept being less than the new rulers.

Do you really think that after they have the numbers, they are going to treat us well or give us our rights after they take over.

WAKE UP, you are giving our country away in a manner that no one else in the world would accept.

Of course not, hypothetically speaking, if that child is an american citizen, then it would be able to file a petition for their legalization. It didn't stop them from working or supporting their family did it.

Since my parents were both of american indian ancestry whose parents intermarried I cannot answer your question directly but I would say that I would try to establish legal citizenship for them in any case. Then, at least we would be able to keep track of people who had committed crimes and who might be a threat to our society.

My great-grandfather (american indian) used to say things like "send them all on a one-way cruise to the Bermuda Triangle" with regard to immigrants and "my ancestors raised wolves, not chihuahuas" with regard to Mexicans who were trying to claim they were "Native American"

I can safely say I don't have that attitude but I don't like unfairness to people who live here in the first place. Our children deserve better.

NOt my parents, I would ask why they never applied for citizenship and make sure they did right away. Get a green card and help them to get their citizenship now.
Waiting will make it harder the laws are getting worse all the time.
