why won't your church baptize him, since they're planning on doing the marriage? is your fiance against your church? seems like that would solve the problem, imo...
he needs to get baptized, but not for the worldly reasons you use here...

getting baptized just to get married in a specific church does indeed not sound like a sufficiently good reason to get baptized. It's going to be easier to just look around for some priest who doesn't mind marrying two people with a slightly different religious background. It does sound to me like your priest is pretty narrow minded, but not all are like this.
I can remember that a priest in a neighboring village refused to baptize a baby because the parents weren't married (and that wasn't that long ago). Another priest didn't have any problem with that and baptized the baby. End of problem.

Being baptised is the first step of obedience after accepting Jesus as your savior. This is just a public ceremony to let everyone about the decision you have made. Life is difficult and living as a Christian is not that compliated. All of the rules are in the Bible. Everyone makes mistakes, even Christians. So every single person is a hypocrite. Why don't you try to find a wedding chapel. It is your wedding. It is your choice.

Just get married outside church if you don't care about religion anyway. Or is one of both families really push you towards a wedding in church? Then can't he just make some promises towards a religion and then not keep them and then make promises to you and... hm, actually that might become a problem. Maybe you should just face up to the fact that you don't believe in God? Wouldn't it be better to be honest to yourself and each other instead of pretending to believe while you really don't?

Why must you be married in a church?
Being baptised is supposed to represent a cleansing. It doesn't mean you won't sin again, but it cleanses you of original sin (or so they say). Different churches have different protocols for baptism, so you really should be checking with the priest about this.

Why get married in a church that has so many rules. Will getting baptised prevent you from the 70% divorce rate? Focus more on why you are getting married instead of where and I think things will begin to come into focus.
The bible teaches that baptism is for showing you belong to Christ not as a means to belong to Him. Baptism does not get you into Heaven, says His Word

Churches who believe in baptism do not take it lightly - as in just dunking someone to make it easier on everyone else.
He will likely have to study the doctrine of the church he is now being baptized into and profess his conversion of faith.

As John the baptist told the pharisee's one must bring Fruits .........That is to say if he isnt a believer and isnt living for Christ why get baptised ?? One must first repent and be saved..........and baptism is just an outward showing of the death buriel and resurrection of Christ a good coscience to God..............So if neither one of you are living a Christian life..baptism isnt going to get you to heaven.........
Baptising cant not save you.........
You go in the water a sinner...you come out a wet one
If you go down a drunk ..you just come up a wet drunk......
Onew must First REPENT of ones sin and believe and live thier life for God....then get Baptised after salvation........otherwise your just getting wet !!!!!!!
SIn is SIN...and if your not saved and have Jesus Chrsit as your personal saviour............then you have the world and whats in it...and that dear is SIN..and the devil
Only two spirits in this world........your either living for the one or the other !!!!!!!!!!!
God or satan !!!!!!!

On the other hand, you don't give sh*t about God and just want the big show-off wedding in a church.
I'm atheist, but I praised those church people for their non-revolving door policy.
If you want big without religion, either get married outdoors (doesn't get any bigger than that) or find a castle or hotel with wedding commodities.
If you don't give a crap about your religion, why don't you just get a civil wedding?

Baptism is the act of obedience to Jesus Christ after you have accepted His gift of salvation.
It is an outward sign that you know He is born of a virgin, died on the cross to save us from our sin, rose the third day to conquer death for us, ascended to heaven to prepare a place for us, and is coming back to get all who believe this.
If this isn't done the baptism is just another dunking.
