it means based on a 2.000 calorie a day diet then 1350 calories is what you would require to maintain your current weight. So if you eat less then you would loose more and so forth. hope this helps

If you are a growing fourteen year old you most definitely need more calories than 1350...I would recommend eating at least 2,000. Trust me, this is NOT hard to do...

Lift weights and eat plenty of protein and fruits and vegetables. Limit the amount of fat and go easy on the simple carbohydrates (sugar). Running is also good for you.

those are the calories you require to maintain your current weight, so you would need to eat twice that to gain weight.
