First and foremost, assess your weight goal. Is it realistic for your height, age and body type? If not, re-adjust your thinking.

Critical aspects of weight loss are to drink lots of water (8 x 8oz. per day), exercise and don't starve yourself.

Cierra's answer is right on! I might add that fruit and vegetables are a lot cheaper than meat, fast food, snack food, and most other food.

If you have little time, what is quicker than an apple, a banana or a handful of grapes; some mini carrots or pre-cut celery? . Add whole grain bread or crackers, a LIMITED amount of nuts and/or peanut butter and some Sargento's lite string cheese and fat free yogurt to go. For a treat, Hunts Snack Pack low-fat or sugar-free pudding. Meringue cookies are also a nice treat. This is all grab and go and most of it is not real expensive.

Well what food do you normally buy? Just spend less on unnecessary foods like chips, milk (broccoli has a great amount of calcium), juice (not good for you anyway), or things where the nutrients can be replaced by veggies. I am on an all fruit and veggie dite right now for medical reasons, and it is tough to go all fruit and veggie but you can get used to it. The good part is raw veggies have the best nutrients so you don't need much time, just grab them on the go!

Or, excersize more when you can. If you are sitting at a desk all day, do some stretching excersizes while sitting there, or while driving (google it, I know there are some).

Why do you have a time limit?
Cut out all your "junk" foods; chips, soda, cookies, ice cream, frosted cereals, etc.... Eat a good breakfast every morning, a lunch, and dinner and a small desert at night -yogurt, fruits. Exercise for about 20 mins a day, if not more. Drink lots of water. Water will help clean you out and curb some of the appetite. Think healthy thoughts. If you get hungry in between times, eat some fruit. I really wouldn't try skipping meals because that could make you hungrier and less likely to adhere to your diet. You will probably start to feel better as you cut down on your sweets and fats.

Good luck and I hope you aren't doing this because you think you're fat. You should diet because you want to be healthy and stay with that diet. Don't go back to eating food that isn't good for you.

Unless you put time & effort into it, then theres not much you can do. Try buying the canned fruit mixes. I know that walmart sells them extremely cheap. Of course, fresh fruit is the way to go, but It can be expensive. With veggies, buy the canned corn, green beans and ect... Its better than eating nothing. You can afford it, you just have to make a few alterations. Its worth it for good health.

120 sounds awful thin. It's hard to tell if you are short and what age you are as to whether that is a healthy weight or not. Look online for a height/weight chart to see what range someone your height should be in.

Try to have a balanced diet. Look at MyPyramid.gov which will give you a customized pyramid for you. Rather than eating 3 large meals a day, try having 3 well balanced, smaller meals, and a nice healthy snack in between. Fruits and veggies aren't all that expensive. They are much cheaper than processed foods. If you really can't afford fresh or frozen fruit, try to at least get some low sodium canned goods.

Try to pick foods with whole grains when possible. The whole grains are good for you, and giveyou fibre which helps you properly digest food and regulate your bowels.

Cut down your sodium (salt). There is so much sodium in todays food. Try to pick lower sodium foods. Salt causes bloat, which makes you look fatter than you are (believe me...I can bloat so much people think I am pregnant :-\)and causes you to retain water which adds to your weight on the scale.

You can get healthy food less expensive. Go with store brands, they tend to be taste just as good as the name brand, but cost a fraction of the price.

But like I said, smaller, balanced meals have a protien, carb and veggie is a good start. Eliminated all protien, or carbs or even fats is a bad diet plan. Your body needs all three types to properly function. When you eat meat, make sure to trim off the fat and/or remove the skin.

If you eat out, try to order off the kids menu, get the lunch size or half size, or eat half your meal and take the rest home for lunch the next day. The portions at restaurants are completely insane! It's no wonder the population has a lot of issues with weight.

Try to not eat a lot of sweets. if you have a sweet tooth, there are now 100 Calorie candy bars and cookies that you could have as one of your snacks.

Remember, drinks have calories. Think about that. Try to drink water throughout the day and go for fruit juices (preferably that don't have high fructose corn syrup or a lot of sugars). They have an assortment of flavor packets to make bottled water more interesting and not add a lot of calories. If you drink, keep your alcohol to a minimum, they have a lot of calories and no nutritional value. The recommendation is one a day for a women, and 2 a day for men.

Get some exercise. Park further away, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Look online for exercises you can do in front of the TV or behind your desk. If you can, go to the gym. If you are not active, start slow. Set small goals.

Keep a food journal for a week before you start your "diet". See what you eat in a day. Write down the food and how much you ate of it (a close approximation is fine) Look at the nutritional label and see the breakdown. If it is high in fats, sugar, and salt, try to find a healthier alternative. Compare what you eat to your pyramid and see how it compares.

To shop for good deals on healthy foods, look through each stores weekly flyer. See what is on sale. Subscribe to the Sunday paper, or go online to find coupons. Sign up for the store's rewards cards. You would be amazed how much you can save by shopping sales and using coupons in conjunction. Go to more than one store. It takes a bit more time, but it is worth it in the end. If you go early on a Sunday morning (if you don't go to church) the lines usually aren't too bad and you can get in and out!

Good luck!!

there isn't any reason to *consume* meat. Vegetarian diets may be completely designed to accommodate sufficient protein, carbohydrate, and fat desires. as an occasion, in case you do in contrast to tofu attempt another varieties of soy products like tempeh or yuba. As consistently, beans are a superb protein source that are the backbone of many vegetarian diets. have you ever seen fish as a a danger protein source? *If* you're vegetarian the backbone of your weight-alleviation plan must be wealthy in greens - the two starchy and leafy to handle desires for calcium and different supplementations/minerals that are richer in animal-based products. i might propose speaking to a registered dietitian or nutritionist (who's approved or qualified in some way - anybody can call themselves a nutritionist) to be certain you're overlaying your bases.

cut out any kinds of junk food from your diet.
NO SODA!
try to stay away from carbohydrates such as bread and pasta, etc.
stick to things like yogurt and small portion meals.. it may take a a little while but its worth it if your really looking forward to losing a few pounds. and since you say you have little time, try to take a walk once a day, and maybe try some sit ups at home, that should do the trick.

Good quality food fills you up and gets cheaper in the long run...If you have little time you need to integrate exercise in your everyday life - like taking the stairs instead of the lift, get off the bus a few stops before and walk etc.
