The only problem I have is that they don't pay taxes. Besides that is it a competition thing? Or a racism thing? or what? I mean they only take the crappy jobs like lawn care, restaraunts, construction. If people are loosing jobs in that field, don't they already have bigger problems?

Get a grip. Most of us don't hate the people, we just want to ensure that our borders are secure, so that the al-Quaida types don't bring down any more buildings.

Do you think it's a coincidence that immigration was never a major issue until after 9/11? Most of those who hijacked the plains were here on expired visas, and were therefore illegal immgrants. They should not have been here.

Most illegal immigrants are good, honest, hard working people, who want nothing more than a chance to take care of their families. They don't pay taxes because they can't, but most would probably be willing.

We need immigrants in this country, and it should be easier for them to come. But there are still a lot who come here for the freebies. A pregnant woman sneaks across the border, has her baby in a San Diego hospital, can't pay a cent, and the baby is a U.S. Citizen. The mother has no skills, so she ends up on welfare. This should stop.

But don't take the cheap way out and blame it on racism. There are a lot of legal Hispanics who resent the illegals taking shortcuts, when they themselves had to go through the time consuming, and expensive, process.

It isn't so simple.

Illegal immigrant is not a race so it can't be racism!
I hate all criminals. I don't want them in my neighborhood or my country. They use our stuff and don't pay and laugh at us for being so stupid as to even let them be here at all. They refuse to learn the language and think we should learn their stinking language. I'll be very happy when we get new politicians elected who will make a plan to get rid of the ones we have here and give orders shoot to kill on the border.
You think construction and other jobs are crappy? Construction workers here make $35 an hour and I don't think they are crappy jobs and I'll bet the people who lose their jobs to criminals working for less than a third of that are too happy either. Why not walk down to a construction site during lunch and tell them they are crap and can be replaced by Mexicans! Bet they'll thank you for the information.

What you are saying is just another spin on why illegals should be here, and granted amnesty. Yes, they don't pay taxes, they live off yours and mine. Are you happy with the closing of many hospitals because they do not pay for medical attention. Our taxes are are going to subsidize these hospitals, so they can stay open. No, it is not a competition thing, or a racism issue. That is La Raza's issue----racism.

I don't hate them, I wish them the best, back in their home country. They broke our law to get here, so clearly they don't respect us or our laws. They commit fraud to get fake ID's, breaking another law casually. Then they, "do the jobs no Americans will do", which is crap. I personally have picked fruit, washed dishes, cooked, bussed tables, did landscaping, and worked in construction, all before I graduated college. These jobs no American will do were the jobs I did to pay my way through college, and I am a full-blown USA citizen. I know I am not alone on that front.

So, what do they(illegals)offer us that we cannot do ourselves? Oh, yeah, use ER's as primary care facilities, demand that classes be taught in something other than English, drag our schools down, drag our health care down and cost up, bring down property value, and drop anchor babies in the hopes that they can bring them back later. On that note, why would you be mad at the USA for enforcing their laws and deporting you while your baby has to be taken into our foster care system. You brought it on yourself and baby, how selfish is that? Ah, I digress.

The media has aimed the anger at illegals by not showing the true problem of illegal hiring and tax evation by the employers. the poor guy that commutes 1200 miles to work is not nearly as liable as the guy cheating his taxes cheating the labor laws cheating his fellow Americans out of jobs. a competitive market doesnt work when some can cheat.

I don't hate the immigrants themselves. I just want them to come here legally. I do have sympathy, but I have a friend whose wife is in China, awaiting a visa. It's tough for them, but she's doing everything legally.

The negatives to illegal immigration are extensive, including: Stripped social security, medicare, welfare, and unemployment funds; Tax fraud; Tougher job markets; Higher crime rates (Not saying that illegals are bad people, but that when you get lots of people under the governmental radar, it's harder to maintain order).

What makes you think construction jobs are crappy? Construction pays very well. I don't "hate" illegals immigrants, I just want them deported... illegal = illegal = prison = deportation.

It isnt the crappy jobs we're concerned about. I am tired of the *press 1 for english* and the ESL progs in public schools
If y'all are so hard working, why cant u learn the language of the country???
I'm tired of them popping out numerous kids when they cant afford it..only to go on the UNITED STATES welfare program that UNITED STATES CITIZENS pay for with taxes
What is so sinful about birth control if you cant pay for kids yourself???

Just go through some of the other questions that ask the same thing. It won't take you long to figure it out. Think welfare, think education, think hospital closings, think wages being depressed, think gangs and hate groups. Think of what illegal really means and then realize that they are riding on the backs of our middle class and you'll have it all down!
