I think it sounds fun and elegant.
Use a Gothic color pallete. Deep burgundy, purple, navy, etc. in addition to black. Is there a Gothic church in your area or an old mansion or castle that would work for a venue?
Lots of candles and deep red roses for decor.

First off, congratulations! Second, this is a subject that it's hard to find suggestions for (I know because I've been looking for myself). The single decentish website I've found on the subject is here:
http://www.trystancraft.com/martha/weddings/index.html
For a good all-purpose alternative-chick wedding planner check out The Anti-Bride Guide. It's not goth-oriented, but it deals with some of the practical aspects I hadn't considered before as well as adressing issues like "What if my maid of honor is a dude?" Here's the Amazon for that:
http://www.amazon.com/Anti-Bride-Guide-Tying-Knot-Outside/dp/0811829677/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-7718553-0304747?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1194658692&sr=1-1
Beyond that, here's my own, personal epiphany:
Even the most standard, traditional wedding is rife with melodrama. It's full of candles, flowers, people crying absurd costumes- it's like a second rate goth music video from the get-go. You need very little work and very few touches to make the event even gothier. Take some (or all) of the white things and fix them! Black roses, red candles and (yes, you can steal this from me because I stole it from Dita von Tesse when she married Marilyn Manson) a purple dress. Even if the rest of the ceremony is very traditional it'll have that cozy feeling of darkness.
If you need more ideas that don't involve people talking **** about the goth subculture, I recomend posing this same question to the cool chicks on the Gothic Beauty message boards right here:

I just saw an episode of "whose wedding is it anyway?" on the Style channel that was a goth wedding - it was quite beautiful actually - the bride wore black - bridesmaids too - and carried red roses. I would use a lot of lighting red spot lights at the reception- black and purple feathers in the centerpieces with black curly willow branches and twigs - candles in lanterns - and black jewels scattered on the tables around the centerpieces. Dark but elegant.

Hey hon. Well, I'm Wiccan and I'm marrying an athiest. Having gone "Goth" for many years, I understand the appeal of the Gothic Wedding idea. Many of my friends and even some of my relatives were stunned when I chose a white gown!
However, consider that your children will someday see your wedding photos. Will you really be comfortable 20 years from now, explaining to your kids why Mom and Dad were all dressed up like Halloween when they got married? While you may continue the goth style through your 20s, even early 30s, how many goth Soccer Moms in their 40s do you see?
Rather than going all overblown Goth, I would suggest adding bold but classic gothic touches to your wedding. Some possibilities: Crystal or silver candelabras incorporated in your centerpieces, beautiful burgundy or even black bridesmaids dresses. Dragon etched champagne flutes...a wedding dress with long sweeping sleeves, or a sleeveless gown with full length opera gloves. The groom and groomsmen can wear long tux jackets, carry canes, wear tophats...burgundy/red pocket handkerchiefs...lots of options there too.
Being very choosy and adding splashes of your own personal taste, but keeping the overall event stylish and classy will leave you with pictures and mamories that will be treasured (and not embarrassing) in years to come, and will be a pleasure for friends and family to attend.
Good luck,
Kat

I had a friend who did a goth wedding a few years ago. If I rember correctly they had red black as their colors, and they found a nice gothic-like castle for the wedding.

Try this on for size
Sonnet XVII
By Pablo Neruda
“I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close it is your eyes that close as I fall asleep.”
Black Dress / Where white is the exclusion of all color black is the inclusion showing your willingness to embrace all that life has to offer together.
Vows closing with "and into the fullness of time
where we will meet, and remember, and love again."

use a goth color pallate. Black and crimson or deep purple. Navy and hunter green. Dark colors.
When planning keep in mind that Goth is way cool to you now but when you are 50 you have to explain why your groom is sporting blacked out eyes and you have a funeral veil on.

inspite of what all of us says, you are able to placed on dark clothing to a marriage and it not be an argument. you are able to placed on and black cocktail dress or in case you think of your mom will freak out by potential of the black, why not attempt a dark plum or dark crimson coloration. in case you do unlike clothing, you are able to placed on black pants and a dark colored shirt. Your hair could be out of your face a minimum of and have no unnatural colorings. If the marriage is during the day, you're able to flow mild on the make up. in spite of if it rather is at night, you're able to placed on the black eyeline and dark makeup and this may be approriate. I even have considered some clothing at warm subject count which you're able to absolutely placed directly to a marriage and not have human beings freak out. do basically not seem donning gloves and ripped baggy pants and striped socks! i be responsive to you in all threat elect to be respectful on your mom, yet inspite of what you place on, you're able to not care approximately what human beings or your mom will think of of you. contain something in to the outfit that shows who you're. Like, placed on you hair lower back and get a cranium and crossbone hairclip or something. Or placed on a choker or rings which you like.
