This is how I'm wording mine, and on the second blank space after the "OF" I fill in the amount of people invited for that specific invite. So they will write back (say 3 are invited and only 2 can make it) 2 OF 3 will attend....

One extra tip I've heard - - write the invited people's names on the response card. It helps you ensure you can read the names of the respondents.
