Bertrand?
yeah, to think one has the ability to command the attention of a supposed creator of a VAST universe we still can't see the ends of? selfish and rediculous

I think it's statement that tries to equate a supernatural divine God with a bit of a dead animal.
Presumably the author agrees that a supernatural entity exists in the same way as a rabbit's foot exists. It is entirely conceivable that if such a supernatural entity does exist then He can hear and act upon our prayers. I doubt a rabbit's foot can do the same.
Answers to prayer are not always favourable.

It's a false statement. Especially the idea the prayers are heard by a " supernatural entitiy". God may be eternal and infinite, he may be omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, but God is not merely supernatural, God is omni-natural - Spirit. God DOES have a personality - you can KNOW God. False statement fer sher, pal.

Everyone believes in something. Evolution is a religion! I do believe in prayer and I know it works. You can look at it as superstition, but I see it as faith. Now YHWH (God) may not answer your prayers because it may not be part of His plan. It also says in the Bible that if you "cherish iniquity in your heart", YHWH (god) cannot hear your prayers.

God is not some giant vending machine in the sky which if you put the right change in, you get what you want. The Lord's prayer makes it clear as to how we should pray..."Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Rabbits' feet don't have consciousness.
God has consciousness.
That said, praying for "goodies" and specific outcomes is not how Jesus taught people to pray.

Yes prayer is nothing more than wishful thinking. Religious people will use various cop-out answers to justify why prayers are not answered by god.
