I have a bachelor's in psychology but I would like to change careers and become a nurse, but I can't afford to pay for school on this job.

Due to the shortage of nursing staff, some hospitals will pay the cost of your education... Check around your area to see if some do that... If not, then check with the financial aid office at the college you plan on attending... Sallie Mae is a good place to start if you are looking for a loan....

in terms of title IV federal aid, you are not eligible for a Pell Grant. however, you can still qualify for student loans as long as you have not already borrowed the overall maximum you are allowed as an undergraduate. those are $23,000 for subisidized loans and $23,000 for unsubsidized loans for a total of $46,000 total.

You can qualify for federal loans and in some states there are special loans for nurses. For the most part, you won't be eligible for federal grants.

Look for companyie willing to finance your education. Nurses and teahers are in high demand so you can perhaps get some grants from the govt.

Since you've been through it already, I'm quite sure you already have the answer. But why would you want to change? Just continue and get your doctorate and then you can really make some big bucks, bull sh*tting all your patients!
