(John 3:16) For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

Of course, the term "Allah" simply means "the [one] god", implying a single Almighty deity reminiscent of the Judeo-Christian "Yahweh" / "Jehovah". However, it is significant that "Allah" is clearly NOT a personal name, while the Hebrew Tetragrammaton clearly *IS* a personal name for Almighty God.

It's not exactly wrong to call the Almighty by the impersonal "God", just as it's not wrong to call one's offspring "Child". Faithful men of the Holy Scriptures used both "God" and a form of "Jehovah" when they referred to and addressed the Almighty. However, the term "Allah" seems intended specifically to reject Judeo-Christian spiritual heritage.

If we want a familiar and close relationship, it makes sense to use the personal name of someone we love. The Scriptures encourage us to use God's personal name.

The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) does seem to accurately pronounce the divine name. Just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.

The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”, especially if you speak Hebrew. If you speak English, feel free to use the name "Jehovah".

(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth

(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

Assalaam o alaikum I am not a scholar but i will try to make it clear .May Allaah help me. Basically Muslims follow the word of Allaah which is Quran but there are a few things which are not mentioned in detail in the Book.for example it is mentioned to pay zakat or perform namaz but the details of quantity and procedure are found in ahadith that is the sayings and actions of Prophet SAW.Then there are instances where a new problem is faced which never occured in the time of Prophet so people who know the quran and sunnah very well derive a solution based on islamic principles. For example marriage over telephone.Prophet Saw got married to one of his wives at a distance so this (maybe i am not a scholer) can be a reasoning for a marriage online in which bride and bridegroom are at a distance. Ofcourse there are people who misuse reasoning but for honest reasoning one needs to be well versed in quran sunnah as well pious in deeds.

From what I have been taught about Islam, Allah is not seen in a personal relationship like the God of the Bible.

Of course God/Allah loves those who believe in him. There is a verse ordering the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "Say: If you love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive your sins." 3.39.

Part of our love to God/Allah is to follow the last messenger of mankind.

Yes it does.
So, if the Qur'an doesn't say Allah S.W.T and Prophet Muhammad (saw)love us, does that means we do not have to love Allah S.W.T and Prophet Muhammad (saw)?

Allah S.W.T has shown His Love to us by forgiving our sins, by showing us the Light, making people convert to Islam everyday. He Revealed the Qur'an to us which makes our live better than anything.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) showed his love to us through his love for the Ummah, by being the best of all mankind in order for us to follow him. We Muslims love Prophet Muhammad (saw) for all that he has done, even if he didn't say he loved us. He brought Islam to the world and defended it when no one accepted it in the beginning. If he did not show love, then none of the early converts would have convert. If he did not show love, then none of the new converts would ever convert.

May Allah S.W.T guide us all.

Salam

Allah SWT gives blessings, mercy and forgiveness with THE GREATEST LOVE 2x more than he talks about punishment unto you that you created for yourself.
Read the book before you ask such stupid questions. The word Love is used in the Quran on near every single page in the Quran. You can't love yourself why should he grant you anything but what you created for yourself in error?

Muhammed SAW was a man and is not repsonsible for you or anyone else but himself. That is the job of the Prophets and you have more than 313+ of them and over 1400+ messengers that told you the very same things. Too bad you forget to read again huh?

ALLAH Subhanna wa ta'ala; Al Baseer, Al rrhaman, Al Raheem states many times in the Qur'an that he loves us and wants us to turn to Islam to go to Jinnah and to ignore the hypocrites. Muhammad(PBUH*) is not God. Muhammad(PBUH*) is a Prophet the last and final prophet in Islam just like all the other Prophets from Adam to Jesus(PBUT*) and the Prophets that are not named(PBUT*).

Yes it does-
Interpretation of the meaning of the Qur'an:

"Say, if you love Allah, obey me (Muhammad), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful" (3:31).

This is not the only ayat in the Qur'an saying something similar

There's also a Hadith (I LOVE this one) that says that if you come to Allah (SWT) walking, Allah (SWT) goes to you running.

The quran states that Allah who is God loves us, Mohammed(saw) is NOT a God and is NOT responsible for our sins, he is only a prophet.
