I have asked that question a million times on other chats & never got a real response. They are hypocrites that only use parts of the bible as they like. I also asked why they do not stone unruly children or ppl that work on Sunday. They forgot all about blue law, just because a store is open, doesn't mean a xian should shop. I got no real responses. I can't tell you how many so-called xians wear juicy couture, prada, etc. while their brothers & sisters starve. HYPOCRITES!!!!!

Many Christians might be avoiding you question because it's not something taken lightly. Telling everyone about our good works is not the way Jesus said to do it. Many Christians such as myself think that saying what we do in response to God and His message is the same a sounding a trumpet, so that by our works we will be glorified in the eyes of men. Jesus didn't like that, you can read about it in Matthew 6.
You see, some people like to call Christians hypocrites, even when what is being brought up is between God and the person doing the giving. Even if they were to reveal to you what they did, would you then turn a kind heart towards them? Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't, but the devil accuses us day and night, so we refrain from telling you what act of 'righteousness' we do. It's wrong for us to do, and it's none of your business.

I don't have anything beyond the necessities, and do not accumulate material possessions and do help those less fortunate when I can. If I was to follow the Lord around the globe and didn't need a permament residence, I would gladly give away all to follow Him. Many times now I wish I would have done that when I was younger and healthier and had no family responsibility.

Umm, LDS don't have something against fundamentalists nor atheists in line with se. We prefer to decide each and each individual on his very own reward, surely. Granted, we've our toads, yet each and every church has that comparable subject. i do no longer even have something against Islam. i'm only no longer very pleased at what has befell to what was an enlightened and customarily benevolent faith, and that i'm no longer able to excuse homicide in God's call for any church. If we've been attacked via non-human extraterrestrial beings, maximum individuals might locate our ameliorations much less considerable, yet some individuals might proceed to hate or dedicate violence or lie or something interior of our capability to harm those we hate. some individuals ought to even edge with the extraterrestrial beings, because our species in no way looks to learn from the fantasy of the pony, the stag, and the hunter.

What do you consider poor? there are a lot of people who think the world owes them something and refuse to work to get what they need.
I would not sell all my things if I were christian to give to the poor because I have worked hard for things I have now. If I had extra and there was someone who is struggling and I knew what I gave them would actually help them I would give it to them.

When Jesus said that to the man in the Bible it was simply because this man said he obeyed all of Gods commandments , but Jesus was revealing that money was a greater importance then God ,in his life.

The scripture that you are refering to was not merely directed at all Christians. What this scripture is really refering to is all or nothing. See the man that Christ was speaking to put more value in his earthly possessions than in the word of God. That is the real message. Christ wants all to fully and 100% obey the word of God. And he also wants our hearts.

I AM the "poor" dear one! I live on Social Security alone and am retired. Some of what little I have does go to those who are less fortunate than I am. I make quilts for Project Linus.
What do YOU do for others?
God bless!

You cannot outgive God. Whatever you give God will repay you 10-fold. I believe Jesus told people that as a test of faith. God also told HIS people to go forth and prosper. I do not mean get filthy rich, but if you truly live for God, He WILL take care of you. He will supply you every need. He knows where your heart is.
