I can't seem to find it on my 12 week old pup but on my 1 yr old pup, it took 5 minutes and we knew exactly where his was! Do some dogs just not have those "sweet spots"? lol

Hmm.

I don't know! My chow/lab mix has one, and I know my pug does, but my beagle/basset doesn't seem to have one! She does stretch her leg out when I scratch a certain spot, but she never kicks. :P

Each dog has its own "thumper spot." You just have to work around their body. Most of the time it's either on the tummy or under one of the front legs. It's hysterical to watch.

I've never met a dog that didn't have such a spot. I suspect you just didn't find on the little pup because the pup wiggles all over anyway. :-)

Currently I have one dog that has it and one that doesn't. That seemed to be the case with dogs I've had in the past - it ran about 50-50.

Both of my dogs have that spot. They seem to really enjoy it.

My 11mo puppy does not have a 'sweet spot'. We've tried and tried and tried... but nothing seems to work.

Maybe it develops over time? ... i don't know.
