Why WOULD you NOT cry is a better question. Everyone cries. ~ God is listening. God hears it before you even speak it. When we don't get the answer we want some times we just don't think he's listening.

You should spend a short amount of time crying. Then you should pull yourself together and move on with your life. It doesn't matter if god is listening or not. Take control of your life. Be strong and do not depend on something you don't even know if it exists or not.

god always listens to everyone and there is no reason for you not to cry if you feel the need

Who said you shouldn't cry? Of course God is listening, in fact the bible says that he stores your tears in a bottle. When you cry (even on the inside) he cries with you because you are precious to him.

Yes we do need more info.
If you do not cry and hold in, then it may turn into anger. The
anger may then turn into depression.
So its best to let it out than keep it inside.
I am sure anyone would listen as well as god.
