I have 3 dogs. One of them keeps coming to me, in my dreams. He speaks English, and once he told me, "I'm only here on the weekends." This morning, he said, "I know that I am your favorite dog." I told him to wait, and that I had more questions for him. It seemed so real. I think I even said back to him, "I KNEW you could talk!" What the heck does this mean?

I have only had this type of dream twice. They are pleasant dreams, but seem SO REAL. I'm not a weirdo, don't do drugs or anything else like that.

Honestly, he IS my favorite. I love them all, but he's special.

Well, alot of times dreams are subconsious things that happen to us in our daily life. Do you have a great friendship with your dogs? Can you just look them in the eye and know what they need/want (food, a walk or a cookie)? Well, when you do talk to them... you talk to them in English... and you have a feeling that they know what you are saying "sit" "outside"... things like this. Also, they are loyal to you, and they understand that with out you they would be alone. Your dreams most likely dont mean that you are crazy... rather it means that you have an understanding of your pets and even though they may not answer in English when you talk to them in your wakeing hours... that does not mean that your mind can not give them a language in your dreams. Just out of curiosity... is this dog your fav? I ask because it could be your mind reminding you that you do have favorites. If this dog is... he may be telling you that he knows... if he is not... then he could be telling you he needs more attention. I hope I have helped a bit. I am not a pro dream interpreter... but I have studied it a bit. Good luck hun!!!

Dreaming of a dog may therefore indicate a longing for such a companion. They can be symbols of loyalty and trust. Is the dog accompanied by someone you know? If so, that person may be the object of your feelings of loyalty and trust.

Dogs may also show up in dreams as guides, much like seeing eye dogs. They may be leading us into worlds we can't see but which they navigate with ease. Look at the surroundings in the dream and see where the dog is leading you. This can be a key clue in interpreting the dream. The dog may be leading you toward an area of your life that you may be having trouble seeing or 'looking at'.

Dogs can be great friends or frightening adversaries. In dreams, the friendly dog may be a representation of a trustworthy relationship or intuitive affirmation of it. The wild dog may represent a nagging, ongoing struggle with a seemingly irresolvable conflict. (Of course, either case may just be a replay of a life situation starring a real dog that you know, either friend or foe.)

Do you want someone who is unfairly persecuting you to "call off the dogs"?

Is there a relationship in your life where the loyalty is at question or is especially pronounced?

Dogs do dream. My female can't tell the difference between a dream and real life, so when she dreams fighting a predator, she may wake up snarling at whatever dog is next to her... and BOY does she look sheepish if there's noone beside her. Occasionally she'll vocalize. Another indication that your dog is dreaming is for you to watch the feet and mouth. Even when there's no vocalization, the mouth will move and the feet will be running.

I think your dog is trying to tell you something. Real dreams come to me when I'm not completely in deep sleep (REM).When you say "he speaks English" this indicates to me that it's not your #1 language. Do you talk to you dogs like their part of the family in your waking life? I'm thinking you do, because it sounds like you love your animals. The weekend comment throws me. Do you believe in reincarnation? I don't ,but that does sound like an odd thing coming from a dog!

It means that you like the dog and the dog likes you:))) And all the dreams with the dogs are going to be with the happy end in the real life. As for my dog he can speak really! But only one word - MAMA:))) And I am very happy because of it!!!

Dog
Pay attention to dreams about dogs, as they often bring important messages. Dog dreams that are positive mean that the dreamer is lucky in friendship

Flip, your dog represents your body and your libido perhaps. He/it/they are talking to you because, I'd guess, your week is filled with work and school and only on the week-ends are you able to play, chase tail and generally have a good time.

Take good care of 'em, let 'em out to run now and again, but see to it that they don't get into trouble. Where I live folks have been known to shoot dogs that crap in their yards, scatter garbage and make a nuisance of themselves.

Animal dreams can have several different meanings, depending on the specifics of your dream:

Wild animals, especially if threatening, mean you feel out of control in a situation.

If you tame a wild animal in a dream, you achieve success through expressing yourself honestly.

If you are attacked by a vicious animal and you manage to kill it, you will triumph over your rivals.

Dreaming of domestic animals (such as pets), if unfamiliar, can mean you feel pressured to be something you're not. The same meaning applies to dreaming of wild animal babies (of any type of wild animal).

Dreaming of farm animals suggests that you are ready for growth. It's time to start exploring your potential. Also see "Cow" and "Chickens" for more specific meanings.

If you dream that you kill a gentle animal (example: you're driving and you run over a deer), something you are doing in real life goes against your values and you are "killing" a sweet part of yourself. You must change your behavior and stop acting against your instincts or a part of yourself will be lost or damaged.

Talking animals in dreams serve as messengers of the unconscious. Pay attention to what they say, for they are trying to help you to trust your instincts and intuiton, and possibly warning you of dangerous or negative emotions that you have absorbed from others.

Animals attacking other animals in your dream means you are feeling a deep conflict with someone you are close to. This dream may also suggest that you are scared of showing your true emotions and desires, because you think they are too powerful for others to deal with.

If you dream of being an animal, it could be an expression of your primitive desires, physical characteristics or even your romantic longings. Animals in dreams symbolizes the untamed and uncivilized aspects of yourself. Think about how you felt in the dream, and how you acted, for clues to your dream's meaning. Also look up the specific type of animal you were, for further analysis.

If you dream of lab animals, you need to experiment with your fears, choices and beliefs. Try not to limit yourself by what others think you are capable of.

If you dream of a dead animal, an aspect of yourself is being repressed. You feel that you are not able to fully express your desires and emotions.

If you dream of experiments being done on animals, you will encounter difficulties in carrying out your goals and plans. However, if you rescued the animals from the experiments, you are successfully facing emotions and characteristics represented by the animal.
