...even though it never happened? \

I predict that my green mini-walrus will jump on my head before I finish typing, and if he does then my testament is true. Hey......he did jump on my head! That's means I'm right.

servant: Why doesn't it work like that? It's just as easy for someone 300 years later to claim it's true when it's not.

Apparently so.

If you predict that, and then it comes true it probably proves nothing since that could happen any day.
However, if a prophet predicts that a major city Oh lets say Tyre hundreds of year before is going to be completely destroyed, not only just destroyed, but that prophet is very specific on how it is destroyed, for instance wiped off the face of the earth so that fishermen use its foundations to dry their nets...I would say that would be pretty convincing if I went to Tyre saw just that...

There are 3,000 (or more) different beliefs in a deity on Earth. There are who knows how many different denominations of Christianity, so they can't possibly ALL be right, but they could all be wrong!

You are dealing with people that aren't interested in real debate - they are only interested in you agreeing with them that they are right. That's not debate - that's dogma, and thousands of years of karma from Christians murdering others is finally starting to run over their dogma. These people use the same refuted arguments over and over again. I don't see any purpose in attempting to debate with someone that really could care less what others think as it is a waste of time.

You're absolutely right and I suggest we make a test. How can we be sure if it really came true? Let's say if history proves it right it than it must be true. There are so many prophecies in the Bible and I don't have time to analyze them all so I'll write only about some prophecies in the book of Daniel. If you're interested you can either look at the other yourself or contact me.

Daniel 1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.

3 Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility- 4 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

6 Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.

Here you can see that Daniel was taken in Babylon in between c 630-562 B.C.E
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebuchadnezzar_II

Daniel 8
1 In the third year of King Belshazzar's reign, I, Daniel, had a vision, after the one that had already appeared to me. 2 In my vision I saw myself in the citadel of Susa in the province of Elam; in the vision I was beside the Ulai Canal. 3 I looked up, and there before me was a ram with two horns, standing beside the canal, and the horns were long. One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. 4 I watched the ram as he charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against him, and none could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.

5 As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. 6 He came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at him in great rage. 7 I saw him attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him; the goat knocked him to the ground and trampled on him, and none could rescue the ram from his power. 8 The goat became very great, but at the height of his power his large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.

Later we find an explenation

Daniel 8

19 He said: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end. 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king. 22 The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.

We read: The ram was powerless to stand against him; the goat knocked him to the ground and trampled on him, and none could rescue the ram from his power. Or we can say the king of Greece tryumphed against the kings of Media and Persia. Did this happen? And when did this happen? Was Daniel still alive? Alexander the Great (336 BC-323 BC) conquered Media and Persia as you can see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_great#Period_of_conquests
We can see that Daniel could not have been alive for at that time he would be at least 150 years old.

What happened when Alexander died? You can see in that link that after he died his empire was seperated into four parts. If you read Daniel further you'll see that he tells us what will happen to them. He even predicts the rise of Roman empire, the birth of Jesus, the destruction of Jerusalem and the rise of Roman Catholic Curch. I can't see what more proof anyone would need. The liklyhood of it happining by chance is nonexistant. If you have any questions at all feal free to mail me.

Sure, if that book is the only place where you can document the prophecy and it's outcome-in the case of the Bible, it's not the only place where many of the prophecies recorded within it were substantiated. Archaeology has never refuted any prophecies of the Bible-they have not all been proven, but none has been DISPROVEN by reputable archaelogy.

If a green mini-walrus jumped on your head just now, I'd say you'd need to try rehab.

(on the Bible: hint: it wasn't all written at the same time, it actually is a collection of books, not a single one)

thats a wierd question... of course you could...

but your probably refering to the bible.. and if you do 'scientific' research.. the bible will prove things that the world didnt know.. for example... the bible told us that the world was a sphere... columbus later 'discovered' the world being round... all he had to do was open a bible to figure that one out... obvouiously your point is great... you cant believe a book just because.. the book says its right... another good one is that the bible says in 1914 the heavens were cleaned and satan was hurled onto the earth... why dont you look up what the world conditions were like in 1914... you can see how the world was effected by satans anger in motiviating us to do the 'wrong' things... check it out you might be suprised.

also today the bible says what the conditions would be like in the end of this system of things... check this out

2 timothy 3:1
But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

now if you can find one of those things that aren't happening today? you tell me.. cuz all you gotta do is open a news paper and you see every single one of these things going on today.
