I was surprised, given the fact that Rudy Giuliani is pro-choice, pro-LGBT, and very socially liberal. If one looks at Roberston's views on all these things, they would find them to very different from Mr. Giuliani's.

What do you think?

Politics.
He wants someone to defeat Hillary Clinton. With politics you never know what will come next and who is telling you the truth. I am not a fan of either or Robertson. We have to see what time will tell.

FIRST: I think that Pat is FINALLY showing his true colors. Consider the fact that he sold The Family Network many years ago to Rupert Murdoch, who is (arguably) the world's most prolific pornographer -- a fact which surely didn't escape Robertson's attention. Surely he knew what Murdoch would do to the Network; it's barely watchable today, and it CERTAINLY is no longer a family channel. But this possibility didn't prevent Robertson from pocketing the many millions he received for the Family Network. Given these facts, Robertson's endorsement of Giuliani really shouldn't surprise anyone.

SECOND: With all due respect to Mr. Guiliani, he is not nearly ready to be the "Leader of the Free World," and anyone who listens carefully to his speeches and looks at his record knows this. Say what you will about Robertson, but he is NOT a foolish old man who would overlook such a glaring matter. This endorsement tells me there's something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

though those issues are of the utmost importance to me- no candidate is going to be in agreement 100% with my views or anyone else's for that matter- sometimes we are in a position where there is going to be no condidate who fits the bill on certain subject matters- we have to then look at their leadership skills, how willing they are to really listen to and reflect the voice of the people and do their job with a certain amount of integrity. Sometimes it is a matter of choosing 'the lesser of the two evils'
I don't always agree with Pat Robertson and I have not made up my mind about who I support (except at this point it will be a monkey over Hillary Clinton!) but Robertson is an intelligent man and he has done his homework- I sure he has perfectly good reasons for supporting Giuliani.

I saw Pat Robertson say on TV the reason he is backing Giuliani is, that the biggest threat to America now is radical muslim extremist. And believes Rudy is the man for that problem. Leaving his other op ions on other issues after that. Meaning abortion and things of that nature

I think it reveals what Robertson cares most about. It's no shock, Robertson cuts deals all the time wit Grover Norquist and Log Cabin Republicans and the like to get the conservative agenda passed. After all, the Evangelical organizations list tax cuts and war among the things Christians want from their government right now.

Not to mention that Pat Robertson has an Old Testament karmic view of God whereby cities get destroyed by weather events because of gays and liberals, ergo he has to choose the winner or else he'll look less holy.

A lot of people still look to What Pat Robertson says , It'll help Rudy in some states. Robertson has played in politics for so long, in many ways he's a legend in his own mind. I understand his logic for Rudy, but if he had thought more like a Christian instead of a Politico, he would have picked McCain, but he knows what McCain thinks of him.

Hello,

Ah, but he belongs to the church of Rome which has over 1 billion Christians. Anyway though I am not in favor of abortion I realize there is nothing I can do about it anymore than stopping a suicide or someone who chooses to get a sex change through cosmetic surgery. Also what others do in the business of their bedrooms is unenforceable.

That said, Giuliani is the better pick of the bunch and for God's sake my American friends, be sure you seal off the Canadian border and seal it damn well if Clinton gets in!

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

It is not what I expected from Pat. Rudy has always said where he stood and maybe Pat isn't reading the right notes. However seeing the other choices on the plate I don't see much choice. Sad to think that with so many great minds in our country we have so few choices

Giuliani vs. Clinton = Socalist vs. Socalist
Clinton vs. Paul = Tyranny vs. Freedom
The only choice for freedom, liberty and America is Ron Paul
any other choice will lead to the end of America and our way of life. Robertson is a joke. I am not his judge but God judges the clergy the hardest, he will decide.

Pat Robertson is stupid and irrelevant. If the Republican party allows Rudy to be the candidate, then they are stupid too. It will forever change the face of the GOP, and there will be no going back. If Rudy is it, they would be better off to give up the presidency this time around, let Hillary win, and then straighten it out in 2012.

I am a Conservative Christian, and not particularly enamored of either one. I have to say I have been struggling with this myself. I don't agree with Giuliani's social agenda, but when I think about a candidate becoming President and facing down the Iranians and al-Qaeda, I have to say I've got more confidence in Giuliani (at this point) than any of the others, though I think McCain is a strong guy too.
All that to say, if he was on the ticket, I'd vote for him, social agenda notwithstanding.
