The suicide encouragement hotline.

The volunteers have to handle a number of calls and they cant devote three hours to a particular caller. Their main job is to determine if you are an immediate suicide risk and then do what is necessary to prevent that. You sound like you really need more intense therapy to work through issues which can only be done by a professional not by a hot line worker.

Three hours should have been enough time to give you some referral numbers. I am sorry you were hung up on. Though these people are trained, most are not therapists and you got someone who wasn't qualified to help you, specifically.
Please find someone you can speak with, for as long as you require. And I'm glad she made you angry enough that you didn't hurt yourself.
Try this. Select your state and look for help, there:

I believe there is a time limit on calls. The purpose is to determine if you are in immediate danger not to solve your problems. She is able to refer you to resources but not solve your problems. If you are struggling I suggest you contact your local health centre for a therapist and get some counselling.

I would go visit a Sr. Citizen center. Most any of those folks will listen.. and! If you bore them to death... well they were on their way there anyway... :)
