Because they can put you over their knee and give you
a spanking which you deserve for even asking a question like this.

Your parents are trying to teach you a few things in the hopes that you will listen and not make as many costly mistakes.

Your parents aren't as dumb as you think, but you're not as smart as you think either, so listen to your parents. I mean really listen to what they are saying. If you can do this consistently, you may soon find that your parents see you as maturing and may very well be a little more lenient and a little less preachy.

The answer really depends on your age ---but I'd say it's probably because you are not old enough or mature enough to be making your own decisions. God put parents on this earth to try to prevent children from making grave mistakes. Parents brought you into this world and you should respect them enough to atleast mind them until you are old enough to support yourself, at which time ---you should get a job and pay your own bills so you won't have to listen to your parents. Hope this helps

They don't want you to make the same mistakes they did when they were your age. Parents may not make a whole lot of sense, but they're experienced enough to know right from wrong and generally want to protect you from harm. Depending on your age now, you might not realize that something you want to do could hurt you, or hurt someone else. Listen to them.

The truth is you don't. that's the honest truth you do not have to listen to your parents, after all what are they REALLY going to do to you if you don't?

It's not what they are going to do that counts. Your parents are older then you and they got that way by not being stupid.. or by surviving stupid stuff they did and they want to pass that information down to you. They want to protect you from going through bad times.

This seems like the same ol crap you have heard before but believe me when I say, they care about you or they wouldn't be setting rules.

Um.. because they are your parents?

Is that a good enough reason for you?

Don't listen to them. You'll HAVE to listen to the police one day... or your BOSS where you work. =]

you parents are who created you. it is techniqully the law.And your parents techniquely have no choice its against the law for them to kick you out, they can give you to a foster home but other than that they really cant do much about it themselves, but if you do what your parents say you can gain their just and if you dont argue with them and you are a good kid they would really start to trust you and then you are basically home-free!!!

life experience is what is making the rules in your house, when you grow up and have your own life (including a car payment and rent/mortgage and utility bills) the same will apply.

Generally, your parents will have a much broader view of the situation that you do, in addition to more life experience.

Because they are right. It take most kids about 30 years to figure this out. If your lucky, they are still alive by the time you do and you can thank them.
