I think that there will be an attempt. At the least, I think that they may get an altar built so the prophecy in Daniel can be fulfilled (12:11)...
assuming that it means a resumption of the animal sacrifices required by the Torah and not the taking of the Church of God to a place of safety (Rev 12:14).
Now, think for a minute what would happen if the Jews actually did start sacrificing animals again! How quickly would their support in the USA dry up once PETA and the Humane Society get riled up?
As the one answerer brought out the location may be problematic, but it will be hard to convince the following group of that:

Edit: Mike W, that is not going to happen. It is more likely that the current unsupervised and unauthorized excavations that the Islamists are doing on the Temple Mount, which have already causes a deterioration of the retaiining wall that holds the Dome of the Rock up (10' projection from normal) will cause the whole structure to collaspe. The Islamists are fervently trying cover up and destroy any evidence of a Hebrew Temple and it is likely to backfire on them. Therre is a link, you'll have to google to find it I have to go back to work...........

Of course it will.
When the REAL messiah comes, he will build the third (and last) temple. This is how we will know that he is "the real thing". He will fulfill all the prophecies related to the messiah:
* The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26)
* Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)
* The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)
* He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10)
* The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with "fear of God" (Isaiah 11:2)
* Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4)
* Knowledge of God will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9)
* He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10)
* All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)
* Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8)
* There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)
* All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)
* The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)
* He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)
* Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)
* The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)
* The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)
* Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)
* The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvot
* He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)
* Jews will know the Torah without study (Jeremiah 31:33, see also New Covenant)
* He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)
* He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9)

I know it will be rebuilt! It will not be where some think, however! It will be built where the other was and that is not that close to the Dome! Therefore, the Muslim community should not object because the real site is not where the Dome was placed... However, that was by mistake/// they did want it where the temple was.. they were fooled! Why? It is written that it shall be rebuilt and I have never found God to be a liar! God bless. Earl

Jesus prophecied the Jewish temple could be destroyed and no 2 stones could ever stand at the same time on it lower back. Matthew 24:one million, 2. there is not any Bible foundation for this. It comes from Nostradamus and his occult writings in simple terms as assorted the Left at the back of sequence and junk does. Debbie

Doesn't Matter one Bit. When Jesus Died, Sacrifices at the Temple were USELESS from that Point on. The destruction of the Temple was prophecied by Jesus Himself and if you recall The Jewish Nation as a whole rejected Christ so whats there to Rebuilt? The present day Jews dont believe that Jesus was the Messiah. If you Build it....... it does'nt mean God will come..

Never.
The problem is, is that the location of the temple, upon the temple mount is occupied by the Islamic shrine, the dome of the rock. Where Mohammed supposedly rose to heaven.
There are 1.3 billion muslims in the world today and 13 million jews. Oh- and the Muslims are intensely passionate, whereas the jews are mostly assimilated into western culture.
So- just bring construction equipment anywhere near that temple mount, and Armageddon will begin.

Here's a scenerio. Iran launches a nuclear strike against israel, a patriot (or Israels version of it) near misses it changing its trajectory. It hits Jerusalem, knocking out the Dome of the Rock and most of Jerusalem. After Israel is devastated, the world is horrified by the 2nd holocaust in 100 years against the Jews. Jerusalem is set up as an International city and the second temple is built, approximately where it should be.

Yes, and the plans are in the works right now.
The cornerstone is made. Many of the impliments that are to be used in the temple are already made and waiting for a home. I think it will come about soon.

Something will be built. It may not be a full sized temple but some kind of structure will be there.
