I recieved a speeding ticket for going 53 in a 45, so 8 mph over. According to AL you recieve 2 points on your license for that offense, According to FL you recieve 3 points. Am I going to have 2 or 3 points on my drivers record?

You seem to have a somewhat misconception of how the system works.

In Alabama, where I just happen to work law enforcement, you get a ticket. As long as the violation is under 25mph above the limit...you get two points against you.

Since you got a ticket in Florida, the State of Florida reports to Alabama that you received a ticket for "under 25mph over the limit."

Florida does not stipulate that you will lose 3 points but only that you were speeding. Alabama in turn credits the equivalent number of points that would be applied should you have received the ticket in Alabama.
