I'm writing a lab report on the effectiveness of lysol, roccal, and other things that kill germies but i don't know which term to use

They are used interchangeably but antibacterials are specific for bacteria only while antimicrobials may be used for any microbe.

For your lab report, it is best to use anitmicrobial since lysol can kill viruses.

They may interchangeable but strictly speaking, "anti-microbial" are for microbes -could be a bacteria, protozoa, some algea & fungi, viruses,& some worms. While "anti-bacterial" are specific for bacterias.
