You know what, you will be healed but it may not be until Resurrection Morning just as someone born with a physical handicap. You will find the verse in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. The fact that you are leaning on God now is a witness and a good thing to those around you that may have problems. God gives the gift of knowledge to the medical profession so if they have medication that you can use think of it as a gift from God to help you until the real restoration takes place. God bless you and I am praying that you will make the right choices for yourself and know that God loves you so much that He allowed His Son to die for you so you might one day enjoy eternal life with the King of the Universe.

Wow, I can't believe I'm hearing Christians saying God doesn't listen to people who are not saved!
If that were true, no one would be saved!
John 3:16, Matt5:3-12
What a horrible thing to misrepresent the Gospel of Jesus Christ so completely. You should be deeply, deeply ashamed of yourself. You have no understanding of the Gospel or of the Savior you claim. You should not be posting here, and should not be representing Christ, since you are damaging His reputation among the unsaved and twisting the Gospel.
To the Asker:
I don't know why God will not heal your mental illness. It may be that He wants to, but there are things you need to do also for that to happen. It may have to do with what caused your mental illness, and what is in your life that is contributing to it.
Let me say this also:
Whether you are a Christian or not, God listens to your prayers. I would seek professional help for your illness. I would also read the Scripture. The Bible is the Word of God. God gave it to us so that we could have understanding of who he is. When you read and understand the Bible it will change your understanding of yourself and the world. If you are particularly upset at God for not answering your prayer, ask Him WHY He is not healing you. Ask Him what you are supposed to do about it. Put Him on the spot! I sometimes do. God eventually gives me an answer, even if He doesn't always do what I want.
God Bless You!

God hears our prayers...even if we think we dont believe in Him...
we might say we dont but if your praying to him you must believe some what...
But regardless God hears ALL of our prayers...and believe it or not....he answers them too!
It's just not always the answer we want...or when we want it...
God works in His time, b/c its perfect...
our time is not...
It may not be your time to be healed...you might have someone yet to meet and minister to that you may not be able to with out this disability...
Or it may not be that you will be healed at all...
instead of asking to be healed of your illness, ask God to have his way in your life...and to do what he knows is best and put your burden on his shoulders...

I think that if you were to give up your belief in god then the fact that he has not answered your prayers would make more sense.
My wife had cancer and died last year. No amount of praying was going to help. Chemotherapy was effective but you cannot take this for ever.
Faith, especially when misplaced, is a dangerous and disillusioning thing. Have faith that your friends and family care about you and love you, that the Doctors have your interests at heart. Please look forward and appreciate the lovely things you have, do not expect God to help or you will have a long wait

Hi Dino D,
I am sorry for some of the answers that you were given on here from people who claim to be Christians. God DOES listen to your prayers and NO ONE can judge you but God....no one knows your heart but Him...so just don't listen to any lies ok? God ALWAYS answers prayers.....either yes, no, or wait awhile. I am going to give you a promise from God to pray ok?
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a SOUND MIND." 2 Timothy 1:7
God does expect us to do the best we can with our problems and He will help us too when we ask Him too. I know you are frustrated but don't give up. Keep looking up to Jesus who can heal all. I will pray for you too. Email me if you would like someone to talk to.

Are you praying that God will just cure your illness? Try asking God for the strength to help yourself. I battled depression for many years, I found God and He lifted my burdens. Giving your life to God is your first step. Good luck and God bless.

God does not promise us that he will deliver us from all things but he does promise to walk with us through our trials. Remember Paul had a affliction that God never healed as well and Paul prayed to be delivered from that as well. Paul continued on in his ministry even when God did not heal him.
Sometimes God will let us suffer so somebody else can learn from it. You may be a blessing in someone else's life and you have a lesson to teach them from your illness good luck and God Bless

In reply to Jesussaves: You claim, in your profile to stand on the word of God and follow it's truth. Yet you will get on here and tell a man/woman in anguish over mental disease that they aren't a Christian, and in fact are Satan's child. Furthermore you claim that God does not hear his/her prayers. There are a multitude of verses from the book you pretend to follow that go against EXACTLY how you speak to others and EXACTLY how you evangelize.
“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.” (1 Cor. 13)
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling (1 Peter 4:8-9).”
How about some personal reflection there buddy.

God's word heals spirit bodys. The flesh of all men is set to return to dust. The body of Christ sometimes has to pluck out an eye or chop off an arm to keep from being dragged down to hell by those members who have gone astray into the ways of the world and traditions of men. The Church is the body of Christ, and it has many members and functions. Better to pluck out an eyeball than to go to hell with a corrupted member that is hellbent. P.S. Wake up your spirit man if you want to understand spiritual teachings. The flesh is carnal and blinds you to spiritual truths.

Doesn't that tell you something. Try meds. Particluarly Prozac, it was badmouthed by Scientology because they wanted the franchise on emotional and thought control. They are only a scam like every other religious cure. Prozac helped me when I stopped manufacturing the right hormones to keep a steady hand.
Above all don't listen to the "Christians" who tell you your faith is not strong enough. That's a convenient attitude for these charletons. They are useless, thoughtless people whose postings on here are cruel in the extreme. They deserve nothing but censure. You have an illness something like a cold and the flu, but it DOES respond to medication, unlike cold and flu. Go to your doctor and never listen again to any idiot who will tell you there's a pie-in-the-sky god who doesn't love you because your faith is weak. They are heavily invested in your suffering.
