I bought 12 eiffel tower vases frosted white 28". I also bought 280 white feathers and 45 black feathers. The feathers are exceptionally good. There the best feathers you can buy. These are first quality ostrich plumes that have been bleached white and run from about 21 to 25 inches long.
I checked on ebay and they are selling their feathers of the same length for $7.50 a piece. I paid $3.00 for each. I want to sell them but should I mark the feathers up? They are new and you can't even tell I used them. For all of my feathers it would be $975. On ebay they are selling theres for $2587.50 for that many.
FYI: I got a great deal on the feathers which is why mine are so much cheaper.
Anyway, back to my question. I want to sell them but should I sell them for $3.00 or should I up it? No silly comments please. What do you think?

Great ideas! Is ebay the best place to sell wedding items? Or is there another auction place to sell them?

I wouldn't go above $4. If you can get your money back and break even you are lightyears ahead of other brides! Maybe the bidding will bump you to that $7.50 price but don't start at the highest end.
1. Its not wedding season so people looking for centerpieces just aren't there.
2. You aren't one of those trusted, authorized dealers. You have to have something that makes people want to take the risk on you. $1k is a lot of money to loose. If you price is only a dollar or two less people will go to the authorized dealers for the security.
**Consider craigslist. You don't pay for the listing and with something like that (and for that much) people are more comfortable buying if they can meet up and actually inspect it before they pay.

You should sell them for what you think you can get for them. If you price them too high, you'll soon find out because no one will bid. Also, they might be more of a seasonal item, with the summer wedding season still far off, and Halloween over for the year. Also, lots of ebay vendors pad their profits by charging less for the item but more for the shipping. They may be a bit of trouble to package and ship, so take that into consideration, too.

If you are selling on ebay you could make the reserve price $3.00 and see how high they go up to. If you make a profit- great, if not you'll at least break even. Just make sure you notate that they are used but in perfect condition, they are not "new" if you used them, in my opinion. Things go high on ebay, sometimes for more than what they are worth! It's the thrill of the bidding! Good luck.

i would go like at $4-$5 either way you are making money or you could sell them for $3 and break even. selling them at the same price as the others on ebay yours may get over looked always sell things 1%-2% less than the compition you may end up getting $8 for them who knows !

You might want to consider selling them at an in between price this way you beat the competition and you might also make some extra cash for them. I would probably sell them for either what i paid for them or like a dollar higher to cover any shipping costs that might apply.

Mark them up! But price them less than the other feathers so yours will sell.

I'd look at the cost of selling on e-bay to decide what you'll sell them for. The listing costs can be quite expensive from what I understand. Calculate what it'll cost to sell on e-bay - then add that to what you sell them for. You can list them for whatever price you'd like BUT, listing them for a great price (like the $3 you mentioned) would increase your chances of selling them. Good luck!

You can mark them up, but not too high. Sell them for less that $7.50 and you will get more bidders. Good luck!

You can certainly up it some because you will have to consider your time to pack and ship them. Dont make them too high since the buyer will have to add freight costs to what he is spending.
