My husband and me didn't get a honeymoon, because of his family visiting. I didn't mind at the time. But now weve been considering going on a private honeymoon just the two of us, without our 4 year old or the babies I'm pregnant with. We would need to be within an hours driving distance because of our son and the babies I'm pregnant with. My family will be taking care of the kids for us.

There is a place in Sedona, Arizona that is a resort. you can get a mud wrap, full body massage, exercise, wireless internet the whole works. This sounds like a heavenly place for us to go and have a private romantic time.

Opinions Please.

I'm in a similar boat - - if I have long-distance family coming for my wedding (i'm talking out of the country) then I'm going to want to hang around home and visit and take them sightseeing after our wedding.
So I am considering having a delayed honeymoon as well. But time will tell if the far-flung family will make the trek or not.
It sounds like you've got a great option with Sedona and you could day-trip from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. There's also a Casino (I stopped there when going from Sedona to Phoenix - - it is right off the highway). And check out Montezuma's Castle - - its neat!!

My fiancee and I are planning to go somewhere small for may be 2-3 days because we are getting married on the Sunday before Memorials Day. We plan to go to Disney World in July as part of our honeymoon, but we are making it a family vacation, honeymoon, birthday, graduation trip. So I think it is fine to take your honeymoon when you want. I have been told you are in your honeymoon period up to around 2 yrs after your wedding. I think its fine.
