I have a phobia of flying. It has got so bad I had to go and see my GP. He offered me anti depressants and tranquillisers. I took the tranquillisers. I had a 10 hour flight to look forward to so one we had got on the plane I took the prescribed 20mg of temazepam. I had one of the best most restful sleeps I have ever had and woke up just as we were taxiing to the gate after the flight. I felt wonderful and didn't have any side effects. I am now much better at flying because I know my doctor will let me have a prescription.

Yes they will - it tends to be valuim type drugs, which basically knock you out.

Ask your doctor for some Propranolol. It acts by blocking the action of adrenaline on the heart and will calm you down without making you feel drowsy.

i went to the doctors a few years ago,and he prescribed me diazapam...if Ive spelt it right. they do take the edge off,and relax you to a certain extent, but with all fears its mainly in your head, and no it doesn't take your thoughts away.but it helped.
