I don't drink or smoke or do any type of drugs, not even tylenol, I'll stand my headaches unless I am dying in pain. As a teen, I never had any need to try drugs, no one ever asked me, but even if they did, the answer was always no. But now, 22, sometimes I can understand why someone would want to do them. But I think why is weed and pot illegal, yet cigarrettes which we already know is just a rolled up poison w/ tar and ****, legal? I see cigarette smokers as bad as pot heads. To me, I known a lot of weed smokers, and they actually act the same. They are not out of control and what not. I think at least those drugs are more natural than cigarettes? So the question, yes, people i do ramble a lot, LOL, why are cigarrettes legal yet weed is not? If I had to date an alcoholic or a weedhead, give me the weedhead, I don't see those people as losers or bad anymore....pretty much most guys do it too and those who look clean-cut and normal." I want to hear from actual weed smokers. Thnx

Marijuana isn't legal because the government can't tax it.
I smoke herb each week, but I never take anything else... not even tylenol as you mensioned, nothing at all.
I don't think its right to take advil or any things that are supposed to make you 'feel better'.

So saying potheads are annoying or being judgemental on 'potheads' is stupid, because not everyone that smokes weed is the same.
Some are lazy bastards, and others have good careers and make a lot of money.

And I still don't understand why people smoke cigarettes... it seems pointless and stupid to me. Now thats a way to damage your body.

I know you wanted to hear from a "weed smoker" and I don't qualify, but I have smoked pot and I am a former smoker and a current drinker. Just because cigs are legal doesn't make them anything other than what they are, a slow way to kill yourself. Just because alcohol is legal doesn't make it a health drink either. My guess is pot WILL eventually be legalized and controlled like alcohol sometime in the future but not any time soon. The legal system is crammed full of things that don't make sense like why is pot a no no and cigs are OK, etc. etc. It takes time to correct things. As a side note, pot is VERY carcinogenic when smoked...worse than cigarettes despite being "more natural". Should you decide to start smokin' the wacky tobakki keep that in mind.

Great topic ...........I've wondered about all of this too and it's so the system can make money and use the general public as slaves while the drug companies, lawyers, cops, judges make a buck while the little fellow suffers. I know endless people on legal drugs the whole time calling themselves disabled..........which is a total lie if they can play on the computer and the net then they can type for a living. Pot has not been given a true voice and who knows what good it could do in all manners of life from rope, to crop wind breaks, to making fine sheets and cloth of all kinds, try shoes even. This has been really great & thanks for posting.

We have realizes the mistake of making cigarettes legal and not ready to create another monster, whose affect show up more quickly, by legalizing pot. cigarettes are closer to heroine, if you're trying to quit. Pot isn't as pure as you might think. Just b/c a pharmacy doesn't make them, doesn't mean someone isn't putting other things into them to make them more addictive than they would be naturally.
Ok, so I'm not a pothead. My husband is a smoker and I can tell you what he's been through trying to quit. He's sick and has a persistent cough from smoking for years. If he were on weed, his brain would have been fried by now. No joking.

I smoke and alot of times it calms my nerves when my meds. don't work. At times It also help with pain from my rheumatoid arthritis & fibroimaljia. Which I have had both for 15 yrs & I am only 27 now. I don't think weed is such a bad drug it has been grown on this planet for thousands of years before people started growing their own. However alot of people do let it over run their lives. But, I to know many people who lead normal lives, hold jobs, & are "normal"! I think it should be legal, because smokin' a J & driving you are not as likely to wreck as if you wre drinkin'.

Long story: During prohibition J. Edgar Hoover built up the FBI to the extent that he became very powerful. When it ended, he feared losing this power, so he started a propaganda campaign against pot. Enter The Marijuana Tax Act of 1939. You could only have pot if you bought a tax stamp, but there were no tax stamps. States followed, usually with something equally ridiculous. Pot laws have nothing to do with pot, just power, which is the most addictive drug known to man.

I agrre. Alcohol is much worse than pot. Alcohol makes people agressive and out of control, people black out and don't know what they are doing and don't remember, etc, etc. Pot heads just sit around and watch TV or listen to music. Who knows why pot is illegal but alcohol is legal, just another one of those weird things in life. It is probably because people have been drinking alcohol for centuries so it is an accepted part of our culture while pot is not.

Cigarettes generate a ton of money and cause you to become physically addicted to them. People couldn't produce their own. People could grow their own weed though meaning the gov't would make no money off of it, and it's only habit-forming, not addictive.

Also I think they wouldn't want to admit that making it illegal was a failure for all these years. They spend so much money jailing dealers and users, making stupid commercials telling you how pot will ruin your life and whatnot. To make it legal now would make them look really stupid.

i don't think of medicine could be legal, yet De-Criminalized interior the united states. Heavy Stuff Like Coke, Crack, Heroine, Meth, which could stay unlawful, yet Mushrooms and persistent could be Decriminalized. As In, not legal to stroll during the Streets Smoking A Blunt, yet Like Alaska, legal For Cultivation And for inner maximum Use (on your place). or perhaps Like In Chicago (i think of, someplace Like That) legal Upto a million oz..in the experience that your Over 18. not legal to apply interior the Streets, basically your place. might decrease The Crime fee Immensely

There is not 1 documented case of marijuana death, either overdose or otherwise, on the contrary there are documented cases of marijuana having medicinal qualities. Cigarettes and alcohol kill thousands every year. What sense does that make? Tell me lobbying doesn't pay off. Unfortunately, N.O.R.M.A.L. does not have the budget of big tobacco and Brewery for paying off our legislators.
