Here are the verses:

Romans 7:21-25
"So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin."

Simple question today:
Sin is what seperates us from a holy God......and Christ has bridged the gap between God & man. But isn't it great to know that even the apostle Paul struggled with sin on a daily basis just like we do?

Thank God for our advocate, Jesus Christ.

The simple answer is "Yes, of course!"

But I would like to bring up a nugget of truth regarding Paul's description of sin here. He asked, "Who will rescue me from this body of death?"
He may have been referring to the practice of Rome to deal with murderers by chaining the body of their victim to the accused. After days of decomposition of the victim, the corruption would then spread to the accused. It may be that Paul is alluding to this practice known only too well by the people of Rome. It may have even been referred to as the "body of death".

Yes, in this world we have a decomposing monkey on our back called the flesh. And we are in a constant state of warfare between flesh and spirit. Corinthians talks about our rewards that contain both the perishable (wood, hay and stubble) and the eternal (gold, silver, precious stones)--all of which will be tried by fire. If we give in to the desires of the flesh, in that day we will suffer loss. However, if we strengthen our spirit for battle to mortify the flesh, we will obtain reward in that day. But clearly note! The foundation ALWAYS remains the same! It is Christ--the Rock of our salvation. In other words, HE has truly saved us from that "body of death".

Hi,

i hope ye are fine bro...
Just a comment to take care about it, What was the final experience of the apostle Romans 7 or 8?

Romans 7 sinning and confesing >>> sinning and confesing,

As it´s written:

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2

in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. verse 4

Greetings
Grace be with you

When I struggle with flesh or even the devil, I try and look at others in the bible. Sometimes you think your the only one who sins, but you know you are not. I find great encouragement from Paul, Peter, and King David. When you go through storms the saints of old can be a great help. Romans 7:15-21 is the verses that has helped me alot at times. That's why when we someone like Paul sinned we should take as a warning not to give in, but press on weary soldier.

Yes Amen! And many men and women in the bible also struggled, which is a good example to show us who believe that we are going to fall short- because of our sinful nature. Look at David! A man after God's own heart and he was in sin with Bathsheeba, then killing her husband! He felt horrible, and cried out to God. God knows where we are weak, and that is where He can make us strong- but it is ONLY through Him!
The only Good in us is from Him--- that is why Jesus says "Apart from Me, you can do nothing" - Amen!

Yes, it is a constant struggle, but we must remember that God will always provide a way out of temptation.

1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man, and God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

When Satan knocks at the door of my heart, I ask Jesus to answer it!!

First, Israel has experienced a hardness of coronary heart. Hardening as Paul makes use of it right here shows a dullness in awareness. The Israelites earnestly sought a righteous status earlier God whether it escaped their draw close by using fact they refused the way of religion. 2nd....until the completed style of Gentiles has are available in. until shows this hardening is temporary. So now they (the Gentiles) have the prospect to obtain the Gospel. 0.33. And so all Israel would be saved. in the past interior the analogy of the olive tree Paul says that God is able to graft them in back. (branches broken off by using fact of unbelief.) it is not meaning "each Jew" with out exception would be saved, yet Israel as an entire.

The intellect and the inner voice are two extremes.Man being a spiritual being is expected to listen to his intuitive perception and then translate what he receives through the activity of his intellect.

Unfortunately,he has become a slave of his intellect which he has tended and given reign over his intuition for thousands of years.

Consequently,he is unable to hear his inner voice when it warns him and he falls into one misfortune after another.

Oh, and how I love the follow-up chapter 8..
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"!!!
All of it is a glorious and triumphant clarion call of God's promises to His children.
How precious it is to know.." to be persuaded that neither death nor lie, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.!"

You can try to fight the sin by yourself and you'll never win. You quoted it yourself:

Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

We should try to be closer to God for He only can save us. The closer we are to Him the less sin can be in us. We should pray without ceasing and give thanks always.
May Christ be with you all!

Yea I never realized paul struggled until the other day, it just helps us reaffirm that we will sin, and that just by sinning doesn't take our salvation away.

Well I mean questioning our salvation, paul is saying he did it to, and he was an apostle so....
