It is Neither !
And I expect all Christians to disagree with my interpretation of the ‘ Holy Spirit ‘ But here goes anyway ...

The Holy Spirit is the name for a set of authorities or powers given to a successful Judaic candidate priest in 1st century Judea. With the power of the Holy Spirit you are allowed to Act , Speak and Teach with the authority of God – just like Gods’ messenger or mediator.

Examples:
Forgiving sins might be one of the things that a priest with the ‘ Holy Spirit ‘ is permitted to do. Technically only God can forgive sins , but if you have been given the power of the Holy Spirit , you are permitted to forgive sins as if you were God. The authority to host the celebration at the Passover or enter the Most High Place behind the second curtain ( where the ark of the covenant was kept ) might also be things that a Priest with the power of the Holy Spirit can do.

John 7:39 : Jesus himself was not filled with the Authority of the Holy Spirit until after he was glorified. ( In the name of Melchizedek - Heb 6:20 )

Luke 1-67 : John the Baptists’ dad , Zechariah , was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:41 : Elizabeth , John the Baptists mother was filled with the holy spirit and had the Authority to ‘ Bless ‘ other women as in Luke 1:45

Acts 8:17 : After the Christians broke away from Judaism it seemed like anyone could get in on the act ..., here we have Peter and John getting their ‘Holy Spirit ‘ promotion from the apostles . However Simon Magnus is not given the powers and gets quite upset.

It is my opinion that the Pharisees called Jesus a blasphemer , because he was performing these ‘ Holy Spirit ‘ ceremonies and rituals without first being given the authority of the Holy Spirit by the Pharisees. Jesus was forgiving sins as a god without being a ( son of ) God - John 10:34

In Summary , ‘ Holy Spirit ‘ is an allegorical phrase pertaining to 1st century Judaic priests and should be read in conjunction with the rest of the allegorical texts from that period , many example of which can be found in the Christian Bible .

God Bless you all.

Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost? They are different. We all have the Holy Spirit of God ~ it is the spirit of life. When you repent and become a believer of the truth you are filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. (and don't tell me it isn't for this day and age because it happened to me) "The world didn't give it and the world can"t take it away" Ü

Amazing question.

Luk 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Here the Holy Spirit has a form. Yet this is the only place it is mentioned. So I will answer you with this. I absolutely, positively am not real sure.

Hope that helps†

The Holy Spirit is who indwells believers here on the earth.

I'm not really sure if we will actually be able to see Him per say in the eternal kingdom of heaven.

And the reason I believe He is a He is because of the trinity:
He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a part of God that serves a special purpose.
I do think He will be visible in Heaven, but I have nothing to back that up.

The Holy spirit is the power of God, his active force.
A simplistic comparison might be the electricity in a wall outlet.
It's there with great potential, but all you can see is what it does.

Erm how can anyone answer this question?
You would have to die first then have to be reborn or resurected to tell what you have seen. and as far as most ppl beleave. its only happend to one guy.
I think that the holy spirit is your own "spirit". Have faith in your self before you have faith in others.
