I have BPD, I have been diagnosed for about 6 years now, and I know what it is like feel hopeless.
I suggest that you may want to get another opinon on getting treated with medication. I am on meds and my doc has me on meds that are non addictive due to the fact that i have a addictive personally.
After years of therapy and medication regamend I have found that managing my BPD is a lot better.

i am unaware of any blood test for borderline personality disorder or of any common neurological conditions that mimic borderline personality disorder.
generally speaking, borderline personality disorder is a sub-set of symptoms that a person has out of the larger set and is not a specific single symptom. It is also one of the most difficult for professionals to treat as those who have it tend to not cooperate w/the treatment regimen and instead often take actions that to them seem reasonable but actually subvert the therapy process. Medications are occasionally used to treat symptoms but do not by themselves do anything to actually improve the persons mental state, they merely mask the problem and often make treatment more difficult. If medications are used, they should be for a short period of time and then only to assist the person through a particularly difficult period.

Yeah I have had the same diagnosis. I was given a nurse practitioner to oversee my treatment. It was a joke, and I was on a lot of medication...but all it did was make me sick and gain weight. I liked Valium, so they took it away from me. Give therapy a chance though, it may be a lot more rewarding. The diagnosis of Borderline Personality is basically insulting, it's a hard thing to deal with or believe. It might partially be bogus.

It takes time...remember that it's an every day thing. Get the blood tests to rule out anything organic, but BPD is an everyday lifestyle, so you must learn how to deal with it on an everyday thing. It's hard, but just be there for yourself everyday.

They can give you medication that is not addictive. I never had such blood tests done. It 's hard. I suggest you demand help and keep demanding until tthey give it to you. Psychotherapy alone will not work for major problems.

IDK if you should be getting blood tests, but I think any time you feel uncomfortable or unsure of your Doctors or treatment, then its time to get another opinion. Keep looking till you find the Dr that you are comfortable with. There is one out there for you. Don't give up. And make sure everything they do, or don't do is explained to you
