We have relocated to scotland from england, where I had a good job and a mother to help with childcare. I am now looking to work again but find that with childcare for 3 kids I will probably only end up earning about £10 a day after petrol, clothes food etc. Has anyone found anything they can do to make it worth while?

Keeping kids in your home would work for you. I am unsure of the licensure requirements where you live, but if you can keep one or two in your home for a working parent, you will have the best of both worlds-staying at home, saving money on childcare, generating revenue keeping children for others.
