I don't know how many Nazi's were Catholic. I'm sure some were, or thought they were. Hitler was apparently raised Catholic but he did not follow the Catholic faith.
A little known fact is that 3 million Catholics were killed in concentration camps too. Many Catholics especially priests, were targeted by the Nazis. Pope Pius XII was actually one of the only high level persons to speak out against the Nazis and yet he is being villified by haters of Catholicism
Pope Pius XII saved 800,000 Jewish lives, hiding Jews in monasteries, convents, and inside the Vatican itself; that he got to the Jews money for travel; that he issued fake baptismal certificates so they could pass as Christian; that he was praised by Jews at the end of the war (by everyone from Golda Meir to the Communist Albert Einstein) as a "righteous gentile"; that his was called by the New York Times the only voice among the silence on the topic of the Jewish persecutions; that the Chief Rabbi of Rome was so impressed by this Pope's holiness and heroism toward his fellow Hebrews that he took his name when he converted to Catholicism.

He became no longer a practising Christian. He became a public Christian and claimed it for political motives. He practiced a German human beings faith. study the bible. It does not say something approximately an Aryan race. Hitler wanted to kick the Jews out by way of fact he could take their supplies and money. If a Jew wanted to bypass away Germany they had to provide up ninety% of their wealth and possessions. the only reason the holocaust began to take place became by way of fact he could now no longer have adequate money to deport them it incredibly is what he became doing on the beginning up of the conflict. Hitler mandatory an enemy and he chosen Jews. fairly of asserting I did some thing incorrect or that the German human beings have been doing some thing incorrect, he could only blame it on the Jews.

I don't care what religion he claimed to be, he was evil and his actions showed he did not in any way respect or value human life. Saying things like "By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord” was just another way to manipulate the masses into accepting his atrocities. He was an intelligent though extremely warped individual who would lie about anything to further his own hateful agenda. I don't see his as Christian, Atheist, or anything else. He was simply evil.

Hitler was pure evil.
He was raised Catholic and claimed Catholicism as his religion, but power mad despots will say what they think the masses want to hear, and what they think will maniupulate the masses.
Another question that comes to my mind is, was German society at the time predominantly Christian ? Why was Christinaity the veneer for this atrocity ? How could a predominantly Christian society follow this mad man ?

Hitler was a Hitlerian. He felt himself to be appointed by some sort of deistic "divine providence" to lead Germany and the world. However, he appears to have believed that there was no power worthy of worship besides himself.
According to "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", one goal of the Nazi regime was to maintain some sort of state-sponsored "church", but have the Cross replaced by a sword and the Bible replaced by "Mein Kampf".
Hitler's religion was Hitler.

He believed in God, and he believed in the divinity of Jesus Christ. He was raised Catholic, and always considered himself Catholic, but had an issue with "Christianity" as a religion, because he felt it had gotten away from what Christianity was intended to be. He felt that the church had too much political power.

ok and...he was born catholic? so what he obviously did not follow God's word. If you would actually attend church on a regular basis you would learn something and know what God really is. Hitler was a nazi and that is it.
