To lose weight, you want to increase your cardio, and do cardio first. It increases your heart rate and burns calories. Weight training will help you build your muscles, which in turn will help burn fat.

some people feel more energetic after cardio....some after weights.....take your pick

but...remember your body keeps burning calories up to 24 hours after hitting the weights hard where as it doesnt after a cardio session....so forget the 'moderate weights' and actually put some effort into it....and dont worry so much about 'bulking up' or whatever

Cardio for 20 minutes or longer each day. Your heart rate needs to stay at the workout level for your age for 20 inutes or longer consecutively. Lifting weights does not provide very much cardio.

I suggest to do cardio first because you can loosen up all you muscles and it you will be less likely to pull or strain a muscle when you go to lift weights. Don't forget to stretch and have a spotter!!
